Every non skeletal back injury in an athlete heals under 4 weeks.
Vertebra damage heals in under 4 weeks when not broken, 8 weeks or something when it is broken. (like Neymar)
Lumbar discus injuries are the only thing that takes significantly longer to heal, because of the unique healing process. That takes 4-9 months depending on severity.

I once knew a girl called Herpes.

She was one feisty and nasty girl. I seemed to never be able to get rid of her, she stil pops up from time to time.

I have a discus hernia at the exact same location since 28 september this year after an accident.

If i wasent a powerlifter with a very strong conventional deadlift (builds exceptional amounts of mass in the lumbar region which is key in hernia recovery), i would have required operation aswel.

Since the accident that caused that L5-S1 discus hernia, i visit my docter twice a week for injections and laser therapy. The laser therapy requires me to lie on a stretcher facing down for 15 minutes. So most of the time we talk about how its recovering and back injuries in general.
