I would blame us for beating around the bush looking for an installment deal, when we could offer the money that has been set aside for A particular signing. (Of course, only if we are genuinely interested in the player.) If Arsenal sign him, then it's not coz we didn't have the money for this deal IMO.

Imagine if we end up with no one or just Diamanti (which I still think is the most likely scenario no matter how hard I fap for Tevez).

Very different scenario to lose out on a player you've been in advanced talks with, pretty much have an agreement with him and still manage to lose him to a comparatively smaller club just because you couldn't negotiate the transfer fee any better. Sorry to say, but this is how most big player deals close in Europe. Whether you're Arsenal or Juventus, you do negotiate, but then once you have a figure to play with, you bid that figure, not ask for schemes like loans and installments. I'm pretty sure that as things stand Madrid would rather sell to Arsenal than Juve, despite being 'friends' with us. I really like Marotta,s way to negotiate in some way, beause he understands the economical needs of the team. But right now, just right now... theres no window for that. Just a misused word or a stupid bargain demand and madrid can just turn to arsenal and sell asap.

Some good news according to Marca. Real is willing to sell Pipita and are hoping to resolve this issue by the end of next week. They are expecting bids from 25-30 million and Juve seems to be in pole position for this deal.

Marotta should be able to close this deal. Real want 30, Juve offer 25, seal the deal at 27,5

You can't speak about facts and then go through a scenario from the future. Unless you have a Tardis, perhaps? Didn't we also have an 'agreement' with Agüero and Van Persie? I'm quite sure we did, based on these 'factual' sources.

Doesn't matter our 'agreement' or the size or strength of competitors, if someone else comes in with more money for the transfer fee and/or wages then the selling club, player and agents are going to consider it.

Of course, I see the prevailing argument of 'just pay what they want', even though people know we do not operate that way. It's pretty damn obvious that you can sign a player by agreeing to the exact terms requested on every transfer, but then we are not running this show like the Secco days anymore. Madrid say 30, we say 20, and then we aim for 25, that's a transfer negotiation and not at all unreasonable for our club.

Let's close the Tevez deal first, since it's a golden opportunity. 12 Million for a WC striker (if reports are to be believed) is a steal.
