this is our policy: we buy cheap and turn them into stars. you want to buy our stars? buy them with tonnes of money or we keep them. look at vidal: we brought him for 11 million and now he is worth 40million ( bayern's bid ). we are amazing.
Yeah we're great. Martinez, Melo etc....etc.....:derp:

this is the reputation we get from Marotta. I don't disagree, except I would change 'a bunch of cheaps' to 'Marotta is a cheap'

except when it comes to signing mediocre players, because he sure is happy to fork out 12m for Martinez and 18m for Matri.
During the wintermercato where we got Matri, because all the strikers were injured/amauri+iaquinte extremely underperforming..

..what should we have payd for matri, or who should we have gotten instead ?

getting a degree on finance, but not understanding supply and demand ? seems legit

It's sad how much you swing on Marotta's nuts, Matri has never been worth 18m no matter how inflated the market is. You just can't accept to criticize one thing Marotta has done.

I asked a question, all you can do is shower him in critique. but if you disagree, tell what he could have done ?

Matri was bought at inflated price. But he's worth about 15 mil so its just 3 mil overpaying. His wages arent amazing eighter. He however scored a good amount of goals for us, his purchase didnt tax our wages, and he did his part in getting 2 titles.

You seemb to be very naive when it comes to transfers. strikers cost money. You like to valuate matri at less then 10 mil. thats just insane. no team will sell you their striker for that

Just 3m? We got put off Van Persie by 5m or so.

Yes, strikers cost money, especially good ones. There is nothing special about Matri besides above average finishing. This was just a horrible massively overpriced panic buy. Imagine if we didn't spend 18m on Matri, we could've added 15m to Vucinic transfer and bought someone for 25m-30m the next season.

You dont get it. While the transferfee is a problem on its own, the real deal are wages. Van Persie is on 12 mil bp. We cant afford that.

Its staggering that the guy from the financial thread knows more about these things then you. Might want to check out delpiero84's comments about how its not that simple. we'd need to loan if we want to buy higuain cause of the way our liquid cash works. just read it. it'll be good for your degree.

Lastly, we were top 3 when shit hit the fan. What should we have done ? not buy matri, played with only del piero ?

This makes my head hurt, 'just 3m' , then another 4.5 per year for Iaquinta and then 12m on Jorge Martinez etc. 'just'

Yes, we will get Higuain on loan. Real Madrid will loan Higuain. OK. Maybe Barca will give us Messi on loan.
Or maybe you never heard of installments, the way most transfers work.

Round 18, Parma vs Juventus 1-4 January 6th, Juventus position: 5th. It only got worse from there. So no, we weren't top 3. By the time Matri signed we were 7th. As I said in Marotta thread, a loan or Rocchi type transfer.

You can say Matri was overpaid, isn't needed anymore and whatever, but he did score some very decisive match winning goals for Juve, I'm going as far as saying that we wouldn't have won the 30th Scudetto without him.

Or we could've saved 18m for the next transfer window, and bought someone that scored more than 10 goals.

woah those guys in the comments are destroying and make fun of juve like theres no tomorrow .

one of them even said something like this

"and dont let that propagada of the SUPER VIDAL fool you. Half of his goals were score by penalty kick this season, becuse of that those italians want to sell him to us at stupid price. And we need to remember that in football, the "goals" is what raise the price of players. Anyways, Juventus is in need of a Higuain more than we need a vidal".

This dudes....
The observation that a lot of his goals were penalties is a valid one.

Also this season we shouldn't buy any strikers. Let's save the money, accumulate it and then get Falcao or Ronaldo or if we accumulate for 5-6 years, even Messi is possible

We overpaid for Matri, no doubt. Cagliari took great advantage of our desperation, but we needed a striker in that window.
