I do give credit to Allegri for gradually improving the defense as the season goes on, but Bremer is imo the main reason for this improvement. It's not easy to lose Chiellini and De Ligt and then expect excellent defense. Especially when Bonucci is playing the way he is, when Gatti has zero experience, and when very often two out of three defenders are originally fullbacks.

And one other thing that supports this is that Bremer didn't play when we had the two most embarrassing defensive performances, against Benfica in Lisbon and Maccabi in Haifa.
