just stats for this season (all games, all competitions, just club games):

Aguero: 41 games, 27 goals (0.66 per game), 7 assists (0.17 per game), average playing time 82 minutes per game
Rossi: 56 games, 32 goals (0.57 per game), 11 assists (0.2 per game), average playing time 80 minutes per game

aguero is about 6 months younger, both are of the same height, aguero can cover more positions (mainly on the wing forward slots), both played for solid teams in la liga (villareal 4th, atletico 5th), both play in thee national team

so where is the 15m price tag difference hiding?
In that Agüero has been hyped to the upper limits ever since he was signed by Atlético as an 18 year old. I'd go up to €30m for Rossi, he's not an average player if Alex Ferguson doesn't want him (as if he's never made a single mistake in his career).

Pique wanted to leave. Rossi did not.
doesn't change the fact he let them both go. pique for the amount of 5m euros.

im not minimzing aguero's worth here. just asking where people see the difference.

:D

Lichtsteiner is a start to solving our Fullback problems and should be done today
lichtsteiner if done, will be a solid addition to our squad. the leftback is still questionable though, both ziegler and de ceglie.

In the previous seasons?

In the last 4 seasons Aguero scored 27, 21, 20 and 27 goals respectively. Rossi scored 13, 15, 17, 32.

Matri scored more goals than Zlatan this year too, but there is still something that makes Zlatan more expensive, right? ;)

could also mean that rossi is a late bloomer. and add to those goals the average playing time. till '10/'11 rossi's was under 70 minutes per game.

a matri/zlatan comparison is less appropriate then aguero and rossi because of the different careers and clubs matri and zlatan played for.

And in that word you have the difference in money. Perhaps teams aren't willing to invest huge money on a "could mean". Not to say that i won't be true. Rossi might indeed be a late bloomer and he could continue scoring +25 goals per season, but for now his starting price is determined by his past seasons and the fact that teams aren't willing to bet on him and enter a bidding war as they did for Sanchez.
There is also the popularity factor and what it can give to the club money wise. Maradona's son in law, hyped up since he was a 17 year old boy, will sell lots of jerseys.

To sum up, you might be easily proven right and 15m euro won't be the realistic difference. But as things stand at the moment, those are the market prices for Rossi and Aguero.

 at people actually arguing for this over-rated Italian punk. Let's buy him, watch him fail, and then wish we hadn't, because he definitely isn't a game changer, nor a world class striker.

I really don't understand what you guys see in him. A solid player, but not spectacular. He is not world class. If we had a solid squad with 2-3 WC players still in their prime, he would be a good addition. However, if he is to be our marquee signing, then it's a huge disappointment

I know, it's so weird how I watch Rossi consistently put in great performances and score a lot of goals, and then rate him highly.

Whatever. To each his own. I don't rate him as highly as you do, and he is definitely not of the same caliber as Tevez or Aguero. I am not denying the fact that he is a good player, but not as our key signing, and for 30M+

Rossi is a nice little player, quite talented, love watching him, Santi, Nilmar and co carve teams up with their intricate pass and move football. I think a lot of people underrate him, he's improved a lot with Villareal, and he's been one of the top forwards in the past couple of seasons at Villareal, theres a reason why Barca want him.

If the choice was between him and Aguero, which it isn't, because the latter is an unrealistic dream. But if it was, i'd say Aguero definitely is the better choice, one of the best forwards in the world imo, he just needs to move to a bigger team to get the chance to prove it, but he is indeed an amazing player.
