I think this squad is definitely stronger than the 14/15 version in every area bar midfield. If we could ever manage to sign Verratti and some other top CM, it would be no-contest.
I think the midfield is the most important area of a team, and we probably the best mid of the world at that time. Or almost, because Vidal was in poor form at the late stages.

So that team was better, in general.

But I agree. IMO we need 2 new guys to start in the current midfield, really good guys. Probably in the 2 CM spots. If we can get them, this will be a stronger team, no doubt. But we are not there yet.

Beppster don't be greedy with your cut this window and bring us couple of midfielders. Come on man you've already have a decent sum in your pocket after Pogba sale.

Tak!

Received the book by Marco and Mauro La Villa, Black and White Stripes: The Juventus Story, for Christmas by my wife. Read the first pages and look forward to read it through. Really looking forward to find some classic Marotta quotes!

Marotta: ‘No problem with Dybala’
By Football Italia staff

Juventus general manager Giuseppe Marotta assures “there is no problem” with Paulo Dybala’s renewal.

The Argentine forward has been in talks for some time over a new contract, but so far there has been no official announcement of an agreement.

That has led to speculation that the 23-year-old is being courted by the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid, but the Bianconeri hope to have him tied-down soon.

“There’s an excellent relationship with him,” Marotta told reporters after Tomas Rincon’s presentation.

“We’re in the process of negotiations for a renewal, which he deserves given what he’s done for us. There’s no problem, it’s a source of pride to wear the Juventus shirt.”

Marotta was also asked about the midfield, as Axel Witsel has decided to move to China rather than Turin.

“Right now we’re happy with the squad we have. We’re covered in every department, we’ve got Marchisio 100 per cent back, and he was an unknown during the summer because of his treatment.

"Roberto Gagliardini? He's a good player, but not one who is functional for our cause and that's why we never negotiated for him.

"We already have [Stefano] Sturaro, [Rolando] Mandragora and [Mario] Lemina in that role, so there was never any mocking or overtaking [from Inter]."

Maybe there is still hope that Lemina gets his chance here. Also interesting he named Mandragora, would be great to see him get some playing time once he is fit.

Really hope so, he's worth more to me than Sturaro, even though I admire a hard-working lad.
