I don't, he is intelligent with his forward movement and has excellent technique. But he rarely makes himself felt in defensive tasks (bit slow) and seems more like to get through the motions instead of make his stamp on the game. His best effort defensively was couple games ago when Marchisio was suspended and he was playing next to Hernanes. Worked his ass off and harassed opponents. But otherwise in general he keeps things moving and joins attack. For these regular games it's OK, but for big games we will need that extra gear he doesn't seem capable of much to dominate. His experience is key, but in certain game makeups it's not enough. Unless it'd the game plan to sit deep and wait it out.
I feel the same about Pogba. I have nothing but thanks and praise for Marotta's work. Our best side is almost as good as you can get but I do worry that our midfield lacks a tireless, harassing tackler. Teams like Barca and Bayern could keep ball off us with more ease than when we had Vidal.

Zamparini: "Dybala? He's the young Messi, he's worth €100m. When I sold him for those numbers (€32m + €8m) people talked about a scandal."

Zamparini: "Now people say that Marotta is a phenomenon."

Well, if what he says is true

And marotta bought him for 40 mil and he's worth 100mil+ after 6 months

Then he is a phenomenon indeed, and the underselling of zamparini is a scandal

And that is why we can't be the bayern of italy, next summer those provincial teams will double the price of their players when we came knocking on their doors... Doesn't matter whether it will be for rising stars like dybala or some under 18 serie d prospect.

This man could literally go in to any negotiation with a player these days, point to one of the endless success stories that he has been involved in and get any player.
Seeing all the superstars we've created since the Marotta era, how the hell did Götze and Draxler even say no?
Draxler didn't join us because he knew he isn't good enough (yet...if he'll ever be) for us. Wolfsburg was the right choice for his development atm.

:beppe:

He was great tonight. Charged forward on the counter in the lead up to our goal. He has been in sensational form in the past 3 weeks or so.
Defenitely improved, but more offensive combinations then overall midfield tasks.
He has been great in all but two games. Only time he wasn't good was when he returned from his 2nd injury (match fitness issues).

No, what I'm saying we need to see that most games not just one game.
You don't have to be a Gattuso to contribute defensively. Khedira is a great reader of the game and is always in the right place at the right time. He notices danger and makes timely recovery before anyone else in our team. His positioning and decision-making do result in us winning the ball back.

It's true that we don't have the same level of bite we used to in midfield, but it's not as bad and the repercussions aren't as grand as you think.

Along with Bayern...are we arguably the best run (top) club in Europe? Or best run club in general?

Let's discuss this in a civilised fashion please, gents.
Absolutely. That has been my belief for the past two years.

Try to make a little more sense and have some logical input when writing posts. This is panicking for just the sake of it, and there's no rationale behind the argument.

So Zamparini was probably blackmailed by Marotta and that's why he undersold. Send Juve to Serie B. #dybalapoli

Marotta: 'Chelsea won't tempt Allegri'
By Football Italia staff

Beppe Marotta insists Max Allegri won’t be tempted by Chelsea. “It’s not easy to find a better club than Juventus.”

The Coppa Italia semi-final first leg against Inter kicks off at 19.45 GMT, follow the action and give your views on our LIVEBLOG.

Allegri has been linked with the Chelsea job for next season, as The Sun claims he is their Number One choice.

“I think that a Coach is always an important component in a successful club and in turn the club has to support him to achieve those targets,” Marotta told Rai Sport.

“He adapted well to the Juventus environment and achieved his objectives last season. This term he is doing very well even with a team that has changed a great deal.

“We are honoured that our Coach is spoken about in such glowing terms abroad, but we don’t think this is in any way disturbing him.

“In any case, it’s not easy to find a better club than Juventus in Europe, as our history speaks for us. Allegri has fully committed to our philosophy and objectives, today he deserves a lot of credit, as does the club for choosing him.

“The team and Coach are therefore a mirror of the club and I think the credit ought to be divided out between all of them.

“We never had doubts over the quality of the players. We have recently got many players back from injury and the new ones also realised what it means to wear this jersey.

“All this pressure at the start affected them, but now they have overcome those issues.”

This is the squad that Juve could field in the return leg against Inter, and they would still probably win

Neto

Padoin-Rugani-Caceres-Evra

Sturaro-Pereyra-Asamoah

Cuadrado-Zaza-Morata

All backups

Beppe Marotta confirmed Juventus “will try to keep Juan Cuadrado and have a verbal agreement with Chelsea.”

The winger arrived on loan over the summer and has been increasingly pushed to the bench in recent games.

“He is on loan. In tactical terms he is very different to the other players, so it’s only normal he suits us,” director general Marotta told Rai Sport.

“There is a verbal agreement for an option to buy from Chelsea, so we’ll see what happens.

“We are happy with what he’s doing both on and off the field, so certainly he is someone we’ll try to keep in Turin next season too.”
