Honestly, at this point, if Draxler is not possible, just stay put and let's roll.
We've already spent more than 50M on transfers, it's a lot. Mistakes were made, good transfers too.
With the current squad, we have 2 very wildcards: Asamoah and Khedira. I won't count on neither of them.
Starting team - 4312:
Buffon - Licht, Bonucci, Chiellini, Sandro - Marchisio, Pogba, Sturaro - Pereyra - Morata, Mandzukic.
Bench: Neto - Caceres, Rugani, Barzagli, Evra - Padoin, Vitale - Dybala - Coman, Cuadrado, Zaza.
Conclusion is the squad is unbalanced, unless we can count on Asamoah and Khedira (as far as we know, we can't).
Defense and attack great depth, midfield very poor depth.
Starting team much inferior to last season's starting team.
Chemistry yet to be seen - there could be issues on the offensive front.
This while spending around 55M (including sales)

Now the best case scenarium: we sign Draxler and he fits perfectly as an AM. Dybala's performances force his way into the starting lineup. Mandzukic is dropped to the bench in favour of a more fluid and countering style in Europe. Alex Sandro offers great offensive force on the left. Khedira and Asamoah fully recover. Zaza is loaned out.
4312/ 433:
Buffon - Licht, Bonucci, Chiellini, Sandro - Marchisio, Pogba, Pereyra - Draxler, Dybala, Morata.
Bench: Neto - Caceres, Rugani, Barzagli, Evra - Asamoah, Khedira, Sturaro - Coman, Cuadrado, Mandzukic.
That would be a hell of a starting team and a hell of a bench.
