This last Marotta interview was a gem. He was uncharacteristically open and even showed some swagger. His joke about Nainggolan and Roma's mentality was amazing lol. Didn't look much Marotta to me. Also about Vasquez and calling Palermo a province team... haha what the hell. He usually is more low profile than that.
Anyway, my intake from the interview:
- Vidal: to me once again it was clear that it was Juve's decision to let Vidal go. They could have made him stay if they really wanted to. To do that they would have to offer a new contract increasing his salary for 4/5 yrs. I personally don't like the decision of selling him, so that's that.
- Transfers: Allegri doesn't decide jack shit. He'll have to do the best possible with what's handed out to him and that's it.
- Inter/Milan: he's trying to offload some of the pressure at Juve to the Milanese teams given their investment. He also said he was surprised to see how much they spent.
- New midfielder: he hinted that they will fully evaluate Asamoah's medical condition in 15 days before taking a final decision about the new signing. It will be in the end of the month I believe. And not necessarily a trequartista, probably someone who can play in that position but not a pure one. Also the most important requisite is that the guy is good enough to play at Juve, not exactly his characteristics. That's good. No buying only for the sake of it.
Pretty good interview. I can't agree on selling Vidal and it can be proven a big mistake. But otherwise I liked everything he said.

We absolutely did need a reboot, our average age was getting a bit disgusting. But still if we don't at least get Draxler, a CM and a LB our Summer has not been a good one.
Almost exclusively because our best overall player since Conte came (Vidal) and our most in-form player (Tevez) both pissed off, and as of yet Vidal has not been replaced with quality or even quantity.
But Beppe has earned our faith, and hopefully we'll get shit done soon.

It certainly put a damper on things. Hopefully an AM will be coming, and that one of Asamoah and Khedira can get back on the pitch as soon as possible.
But this is certainly a very concise opinion, and one that I share.
I do think that the attacking line will be better overall with the likes of Dyballa, Morata, and Mandzukic. It's all about that AM right now.

If Vazquez had more pace to him, then it would be a different story. They need an AM who can be direct and have good dribbling ability. Which is why I have high hopes for Draxler if he is indeed the choice.
The counterattacking capabilities with him, and the other attackers on this squad would be devastating. But, my one concern is whether one of Asamoah, Pereyra, Khedira, or Sturaro can at least be something good as far as helping to control the midfield and not get pushed around. You can't attack if you don't have the ball.

Yeah, especially Asamoah. He used to be a fricking beast in his first 2 years here. A Pogba - Marchisio - Asamoah midfield trio would be very solid, with Draxler (if fit) in front.
