I like the policy too. It shows our team gives a shit about the players and their desires, and means players like Tevez and Vidal will only ever have good things to say about our club, its management, and so on. We're a club that treats our players well, and helps them achieve their goals.
And when you combine this with results in the CL, if we can keep getting to QFs or better each year, with the occasional Semi and Final, well, we will be a very attractive destination for young talented players, and as time passes will become that final destination type of club again. We're close, but not quite there.
'tis the same reason I don't have a huge problem with the buyback clause in Morata's contract. We're still growing back to the top, we'll get more money than we paid for him to replace him if he were to leave, which will help us get that replacement plus improve our financials, and slowly but surely we'll have the economic power again to purchase star players outright.
Our management is thinking long-term, which I like.
