People underestimate the signings we've made.

Mandzukic has scored 68 goals-14 assists in 130 matches over the last 3 years.

Tevez scored 67 goals-24 assists in 142 matches over the last 3 years.

Mandzukic for under 20 mil is a great signing, and a superb replacement for the goals Tevez scored for us. Dybala is superb replacement for the assists.

Our forward group is far superior to what it was last year. It's not even close. Especially with Morata being a year more experienced and hopefully no injury to start this season. Add another year onto Coman as well.

Mandzukic, Morata(at 23), Dybala, Zaza is so much better than Tevez, Llorente, Morata(at 22), Matri.

Most of the people complaining about our mercato were also one's wishing Pirlo to leave Juve so I won't even mention him as a loss. Our starting XI is not in the slightest weaker with Marchisio or Khedira playing CDM instead of Pirlo. It's likely much stronger.

VIdal is the loss that hurts our team. Our midfield 3 will be slightly weaker this year, although another year of development and maturity for Pogba should negate some of that. Khedira is an excellent player. Pereyra will have another year under his belt, and just lacks end-product really. Sturaro will actually have a preseason to get involved and into the team. We'll have a very very strong set of 5 midfielders, without even counting Asamoah.

If we actually do sign a good CAM, not even world class, but good, we'll be a stronger team than last year.

Tevez was our source of creativity and he had the best year of his carerr in 14-15. He decided a lot of games on his own. To be fair I don't think he would be able to keep the level this year.

He was replaced by Dybala, a talented kid who is a big question mark. We don't know if, how and when will he pan out. He may need time. To think he can offer what Tevez offered from day 1 is delusional.

Mandzukic replaces Llorente, we improve the depth. The same with Matri being replaced by Zaza.

Vidal was one of the top 3 players of the team, and he was replaced by Khedira. Khedira doesn't come close to Vidal not even if he performs at his top.

Pirlo leaving is good news for the starting team, it's much better with Marchisio as a DM.

But so far, we are much weaker. We lost 2 of our top3 players in Tevez and Vidal, guys who are irreplaceable and in their places we'll have Khedira (inferior player to Vidal) and Dybala (talented but too young to take the responsibility right on - question mark).

Depth is better though.

I'm not considering the AM and possible LB, because there's none at the moment.

At the current moment, we are definitely weaker. To think we are even on the same level after losing Vidal and Tevez is completely out of reality.

The problem is you're not supposed to question the moves, just accept it and argue that we're better now (even if we really aren't).

No one, and I repeat no one, has said Dybala replaces all that Tevez offered. But he does offer some of that same creativity. His passing and vision are fantastic. His finishing is nowhere near Tevez, but we now have Mandzukic who has scored at a slightly better clip than Tevez over the last few years. He's scored 20+ goals for 3 straight years. He's not a slight improvement on Llorente, he's a massive improvement. He's arguably a starter here, and would start on most teams. Fantastic player and somehow people are already underrating him. Khedira is a drop off from Vidal and an injury prone player, but in terms of quality he's nowhere near the dramatic drop-off some people suggest. Pogba will be a year older and likely better and more consistent, same thing with Morata.

This team is weaker at the moment, especially considering chemistry and time to gel, but to suggest we've leapt off a cliff to our doom like 50% of the members here are doing is delusional and frankly, fucking retarded.

Question Beppe by all means. I'm dubious about letting Vidal go. But at least wait until the season actually starts and we see this team in action before you make these grand overarching statements about how shitty our team is right now. None of us have any idea whether we'll just be "good" like in the Conte years, or great like last year. So to suggest otherwise as though it's a fact is stupid and no less delusional than saying we are better. The reality is we have no clue. All we know is we lost some 3 fantastic players and brought in 3 pretty damn good ones to replace them and are still searching for a CAM this mercato.

We do have means to overcome it though, and a lot will depend on the AM they bring in and other factors - Dybala's development, Coman's development, Morata's handling with leadership, chemistry, Mandzukic's fit in the team, Khedira's performance. Sure. That's exactly what I meant.

On a serious note Pirlo was more important player for us last year, arguably had better season than Chilean, but the amount of slack he was getting week in week out, makes it funny to read the same folks considering him indispensable and difficult to replace. Pretty sure someone even mentioned Storrari as a big blow. Mass hysteria has taken over and you played no small part in it. Current team looks weaker, at least on paper, but still looks like clear Scudetto favorites and capable of making decent CL run (CL QFs).
