I don't consider Bonucci and Marchisio our best players, so I'm not really sure what that means. I guess if you want to query the forum for positive hits then yes Marchisio is the best player in the world.

The past season, Bonucci and Marchisio, after Tevez were the 3 best performing players over the course of the season

Pogba was outstanding for 2 months before his injury, and average before newyear
Vidal was average in everything, but got back to his excellent defensive game at the end of the season
Pirlo was a huge defensive risk and very poor offensively, but managed clutch freekicks several times
Morata grew into the season, while Llorente never started it

See Dybala could turn out to be an amazing player, but I have my doubts we'll see the best of him straight away.

Whereas with Vidal, whilst he is (was) our best midfielder, we are pretty damn stacked in that department. And it wouldnt shock me if Marotta signs another CM to up the stocks anyway.

There aren't any guarantees I agree which is why with the Vidal money we need to bring in a guarantee. Following that, with the eventual Pogba money, we need to bring in another guarantee. IF we sign a worldclass, of very high potential CAM, we dont need verratti as he wont suit the formation. But a winger would.

People need to stop the drama. i have always been an enemy for Marotta and actually most of my -rep is because of him, however, i want to say that he is the one who got us Pirlo and Pogba and Vidal and llorente and Barzagli and Tevez for actually nothing compared to today's market. this is an achievement we shouldn't overlook. however, will always blame him for letting Veratti slip away ( huge mistake ), and now i will wait to see what he will do this year. most of the top teams do stupid shit once in while. be patient guys. losing Vidal is not the end of juve and will never be. and we still buy players.

Is Marchisio in 2015 a better player than Del Piero in 2007 just because he had an off year? Not really. Best players mean the most skilled and impactful over several years and neither Bonucci or Marchisio are even close to that.

Comparing Nedved of 2003 to Bonucci and Marchisio of 2015 is simply asinine. I think you and others are confusing consistency with consistency and class and game-changing ability.

Both were situations, where a lesser talented player, played better then better talented players.

In 2003 Zidane, Figo, Rivaldo, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho?... were more talented then Neved, but nedved played beter
In 2015 Pogba and Chiellini have more talent then Bonucci and Marchisio but the latters played better

I think Marotta is learning an important lesson from Rummenigge and Bayern. They are basically saying to us:

"We want your best midfielder for 35 mil euro, but we won't sell you a rotational player for 50 mil euro."

With no decent purchase as a CAM I hope this deal fails even if we let Vidal go for free after two seasons.
