I think marotta already signed that very good striker in Llorente. Tbh i dont see us signing a expensive forward tgis season.

It must be considered that Krasic was already bought by the time Diego was sold. The figure if I remember was 15.5m, that we received from Diego's sale. Quag was then bought for the same amount from Napoli. So I don't quite agree about Diego being a tactical swap with Krasic coz we were still short of strikers that term. A lot had speculated that Diego was given to Wolsfburg, so we got a preference on Dzeko, which never happened eventually. My personal take was, that it was unnecessary and a bad move.

Del Neri actually said several times that he plans to have Diego and Trezeguet pairing upfront in his 4-4-2 before they were both sold.
Juventus coach Gigi del Neri isn't panicking over the sale of Diego.

He said: "The club did what it could, taking into account both technical and financial aspects.
“The debate about Diego is wide. It also regards the financial aspect and involves the club, but we are all aligned.

“It’s up to the club to respond [to Diego’s criticism]. I will only say that Diego is a great player and I hope he finds success in Germany, but we have more presence in the penalty area with Quagliarella. And then again, our Diego is called Del Piero.”

When it was pointed out that Diego is much younger than Del Piero, Del Neri said: “What does that matter? At 35, Doni played 30 games with me at Atalanta and scored 12 goals.

“I can’t assure a starting place to anyone. Del Piero is a Juventus player and it’s important that he is happy. Then we’ll see what happens.

“We must get a place in the Champions League in whatever way possible, because the history of Juventus requires it.”

What did you expect him to say?

No, but he certainly shouldn't go from looking at a world class striker to owning a Bendtner. I just dont see how that works.
Sure you do, we've seen it twice now. Signing a big player works one of two ways.

1) You pay whatever a team, player and agent wants (PSG/Man City) and it is wrapped up inside a month at most.
2) You try to negotiate the transfer with all parties, which drags on for longer.

Because we have to take the second option and perhaps are not clever enough in this respect we end up spending our summer failing on this big player, by which time all the other potentially good players are not available, because their clubs can't replace them late in the window or they have been signed by another team. So we then end up fighting over fill-in players, scraps.

That doesn't mean that Diego wasn't planned to be sold, because Krasic arrived before.

I don't know what you don't agree with on the tactics, we went to Delneri's 4-4-2, which suits Krasic and not Diego.

we needed money, diego was not ready to play in 442, that's for sure, so we swapped Diego with Krasic, that's it.
Technically, we swapped Diego for Quagliarella for the same fee, not for Krasic, but I'm not complaining.

indeed but we only loaned Qtube with option to buy

Really can't understand Marotta's haters, he is the best in Italy, he made only few mistakes, he bring Vidal, Pirlo, Pogba, Licht, we won 2 scudetti in the row, and yet some fuckers want "world class" forwards :sergio:

Marotta did indeed made some quality buys, and is one of the main reasons for our recent success.

This Summer is a make or break deal for him.

Wolsfburg and whatever other suitors there were for Diego at the time, came well before the market closed. Also, if it was a planned sale, then the attacker replacing him would've not been a panic buy, like Quag ended up being at the last minute. Let's not forget that DiNatale had rejected us before that. (an agreement for which should've perhaps been in place before Diego's departure which itself was at the last minute.)

If you choose to go with Diego's version of events, DN was going to play him behind Trez, and had confirmed with him that he was staying, but Marrotta never gave him a clear indication that he was going to be sold till the time that he got sold. I wouldnt say it was entirely planned, and nor do I think Marrotta was entirely tactically aware that season because we should've had more than one winger for DelNeri's 442. Not to mention, fullbacks.

Not that this maybe true, but just sharing.

"The transfer market campaign made by Juve is full of mistakes," said Diego in an interview with Sky Italia. "They have lost so much money as well as stars.

"I hope that in the future they will have a winning project with the understanding that the quality not only belongs to Italian players and that you cannot exclude foreign champions. You cannot win like that."

Diego believes Juve's general director Giuseppe Marotta is to blame. Marotta took up the position at the end of last season when he left Sampdoria.

"(Juve coach Luigi) Del Neri was very clear with me, he said he wanted me to stay," said Diego. "On the other hand, Marotta was not clear. I always said that I wanted to stay and the coach always told me that he would have played me.

"If Marotta wanted to sell me he could have done it two months ago (instead of three days before the final day of the transfer window) as it would have been simpler and he would have found a better solution.

"The fact is that Marotta did not behave well with me or with other Juventus champions like (Mauro) Camoranesi or (David) Trezeguet. He does not have the experience to guide Juventus.

"Juventus should have been much stronger. The players that have left would have been useful to the next technical project."

Oh, and i forgot to mention that we signed Llorente "for free"

Pirlo, Llorente, Pogba - free transfers
Lichsteiner 10m , Vidal 12m

And yet they don't happy with Marotta :sergio:

For example - Man. City:
Javi Garcia - 20m euro - flop
Rodwell - 15m - flop, bench player
Nasri - 27.5m - flop in 2nd season
Dzeko - 37m - bench player
Kolarov - 22.7m - bench

And if it was up to Marotta, he could easily sign Kolarov for 10-12m like he did with Lichsteiner because of his good relationships with Lazio's management
