Yeah I'm probably not being clear.

Top striker - €30m, split over 3 years (2012, 2013, 2014)

Asamoah/Isla - €18m combined for halves, split over 3 years (2012, 2013, 2014)
Asamoah/Isla - remaining €18m, bought in either 2013 or 2014, split over 3 years (2013, 2014, 2015 or 2014, 2015, 2016)

So you see, if we buy out the second halves this summer it would be spent over 4 years, if we do it next summer then it would be spent over 5 years. So for co-owned players the money is spread over a longer period than spending it all on one outright transfer.

It's one reason why clubs do co-ownerships and loan-to-buys, it spreads deals out longer than the allowed 3 installments.
Ah, I see now.

Although this could all be invalid if the top striker €30m is split over 4 or so years, but I don't think real life is FM :D

To be fair, I will split this into 2 categories. Good or bad. No middle ground. For the most part, it is based this on the how player has perfomed to this day and economic values do not matter (i.e. selling for more than paid does not a good transfer make in this list). Also, I'm not counting youth players like Leali, Masi and Boakye, since they haven't played for the senior team in official matches.

Good:
Asamoah
Giaccherini
Giovinco
Pogba
Rubinho
Pirlo
Pepe
Quagliarella
Matri
Lichtsteiner
Vidal
Vucinic
Estigarribia (loan)
Padoin
Storari
Bonucci
Sorensen
Barzagli
Caceres
Isla
Krasic

Bad:
Lucio
Bendtner
Peluso
Ziegler
Pazienza
Motta
Elia
Borriello (loan)
Lanzafame (loan)
Toni
Aquilani (loan)
Camilleri (loan)
Rinaudo (loan)
Traore (loan)
Martinez
Constantino

Hardest to classify was Krasic.

Good: 21
Bad: 16

Out of 37 transfers in, 56.7% were good and 43.3% were bad.

This is very bad. I mean this is not an exam when you get 51% and you pass. So Marrota got a C+

Out of 37 transfers 43,3% of those were bad. Out of the 16 'bad' transfers, 6 were loans . FFS this is rudementary.

How can players that were brought in on a free transfer be considered bad though?

The only money that was spent was for their wages and none of them except for Aquilani were considered starters.

Aquilani was great the first few months here and formed a great partnership with Melo.

His form dipped like krasic when the whole team stopped performing.

Marrotta's strategy is to sign quantity player, not quality, obviously, when you sign 40 players half might be good and 2-3 world class (vidal, & Pirlo), I would like to know how much did he spend all? is it over 300m or not?
