Christ we are Serie A champions and just won the Supercup, and already everyone's acting erratic calling for Marotta's head. It's not like the man didn't try to sign a striker, he had the idea with Llorente, and if he's not willing to spend 30m I'm not going to argue with him. Sure there are a lot of things Marotta could/should do, offload players like Pazienza etc, and no one's denying we need a class striker but firing him is totally overreacting. We have a pretty damn good team, and I think acquiring Asamoah and Isla are brilliant, Pogba too.

Calling for Marotta to resign after building this fantastic team is just wrong. Dude did it while not paying more than 20m for anyone. He did an amazing job. He has just failed to deliver a quality striker and the last piece that Juventus needed. Being disappointed in that is not controversial.
right now i would give him +rep for not bowing to ridiculous transfer fee demands by bilbao and man city. it is a very business centric approach which will please the chairholders more than the "but i WANT A STRIKER NOW" attitude and overspending.

it's on our terms or nothing!

There are certain things about Marotta I hate, like his ability to get big players, and then there's certain things I actually like. He's a down to earth dude and so far has done a really good job. With someone aggressive and smart like Conte to back him and basically tell him who to get, he'll be a fine GM for us. Hopefully he learns with experience how to convince top players to come here.

And tbh, I do think RvP was headed here but the match fixing scandal made him change his mind. Nothing Marotta could've done about that.

I'm not convinced.

Can't help but think back to all the mercato experts (the actual big agents, not shitty journalists) saying that no-one would manage to bring a star to Serie A this summer because the league wasn't attractive and no-one had the cash to pay top wages.

Looks like they were right.

Well yeah, it's all speculation at this point but if we were ready to pay his wages as it was reported I don't see a reason why he'd pick Manu over Juve. He did say he didn't want to play for another team in EPL and at this point we have the same chances of winning a major trophy as United.
