Probably not Pazzini, I'm unconvinced. A Pazzini-Quagliarella swap is preferable, but if Matri is to go the other has to be a stronger striker.
A Pazzini Quagliarella swap has absolutely no meaning at all, not only there is no improvement whatsoever but also we are increasing our wages, something that contradicts what Marotta does. Something that you repeatedly use to defend Marotta with.

We are not the absolute biggest spenders but amongst the biggest spenders. Milan actually spend a lot less than we do. How much again did Milan pay for Cassano?
we have spent alot, but on many players, bc that was needed at the time. this year we need quality depth, and that what we have gotten. wages wise milan and inter had about 50% higher total wages per year. both are drasticly reducing wages this year, and selling or freeing the highest earners at the clubs.

10m for vidal is a better deal than cassano for free.
pirlo for free is a better deal also

I can think of a few, but for me it doesn't make sense to acknowledge a priority then do a deal for Pazzini in the final few weeks of the mercato.
Would you be kind to share your thoughts with us? The Pazzini deal in the last few weeks is THE panic buy of this mercato.

There is certainly an improvement, as Pazzini is a true CF who can be used as an attacking reference. Quagliarella is a more talented player but has no real role.

I'm not sure how I 'repeatedly' use the wage issue considering I have said it once, but we also don't know what salary Pazzini would command. It's also not about player for player, but the structure overall, as a total and what the strongest players in the team earn. We won't have someone come in and earn double of Pirlo and Gigi.

Do you think this year we need quality depth more than we need a prolific forward? Because apparently that's what Marotta is prioritizing.

I did not mean that you have been mentioning it today, this evening, in this discussion, you usually use it to defend Marotta.

It is also obvious that Pazzini will demand much more than Quagliarella does considering their current wages today in their respective clubs.

And last but not least, the improvement that you speak of is slightly insignificant considering that we did not work on what we needed to fix most by prioritizing once again other departments.

yes, no doubt about it! if we are to compete in serie a and cl we needed quality depth. look at what happende to napoli last year? not enough depth. that could be us this year, if it were not for the quality depth we now have. :)

Ok. Great, you convinced me now. Marotta better get Pazzini as a panic buy and get this mercato over so you, Juvejay, Salvatore and others who think that Marotta is the best thing since sliced bread has done a wonderful job once again. I am out of this discussion, it is too much energy and time consuming.

It's really tedious, I have no better description. Pazzini it is and always with a great reason as to why he was bought. Structure, wages, competition, risk but never Marotta style. Marotta style is the way to go, fault free. Every sport director should avoid bidding wars, avoid the selling demands and above all decide on the terms.

Cissé, Doumbia and Lewandowski were my initial thoughts, I don't know how available each are.

Pazzini late on in a swap with Quagliarella will perhaps happen, somewhere near the deadline I'd guess.

None of these players is available. And again, Pazzini to Juve is a panic buy no matter how much you sugar coat it.

Quagliarella earns €2m plus performance bonuses and Pazzini earns €2.5m.

CM strength depth was a priorty that we fixed, as was having back up central defenders. In terms of left back or left wing back there are already several options, anything else would be a bonus there. CF is perhaps the biggest issue. We aren't short of options there, but it's a question of first choice quality.

I'd say let's just reserve these comments for after 31st August. Frustration gets to us all, believe me. ;)

Yes we are short of options if you mean options on who to buy because day after day Marotta pulls out of deals for reasons we have mentioned hundreds of times before.

Posters like fredrik are what cause frustration the transfer market is as good as 31st of August for me, it is quite obvious how we will end it.
