You're taking rumours as facts.

Fact is that we don't know how much time Marotta did or did not spend chasing RVP. That's if he chased him at all.

Only a week ago we read the rumour that we haven't been interested in RVP since the beginning of July. Why not believe that instead?

Do you believe we were interested in Aguero?

Anyway, check out his latest interview. I think everyone knows we were interested.

2012-13: €35m (Caceres, Giaccherini, Giovinco, Lucio, Masi, Isla, Asamoah, Leali, Boakye, Bonatini, Pogba)
See, take this 35€m, add their combined salaries to it & you've got your top player for about 4 or 5 seasons.

Easy as pie, I wonder why Marotta doesn't do it

Just like RVP, I do think we were at some point interested in Aguëro.

I also believe we approached club and/or player to talk numbers.

Thing is that those numbers are entirely different from what we are willing to pay (quite possibly more in terms of salary rather than transfer sum), leading us to immediately drop our interest. Rightfully so, imo.

How does Cavani's ambitions go with a club like Napoli? No matter what, they'll never win the CL and the way I see it they've already become weaker then they were last year. Even if they do some fantastic singings - even if Insigne turns out to be even better then Lavezzi they must have a hard time holding on to their players when offers arrive? Cavani is 25 - still plenty of years to go an win something big, but TBH I think he knows he can't stay in Napoli forever.. Right? So how long before he realizes this and asks for a transfer do you think? Do anybody believe in Napoli to win either Scudetto or CL/europa league? I don't. Europa League maybe but then again - who becomes one of the world's best to win this trophy? :p

Marotta: Juve monitoring Llorente

Juventus director general Beppe Marotta has given an update on Juventus’ search for a striker, admitting Fernando Llorente’s situation is being monitored.

The Bianconeri have been linked with a number of strikers this summer, as well as suggested to be considering selling at least one of their current forwards too.

Whilst Edin Dzeko and Robin Van Persie have been paired with the Turin side this summer, Athletic Bilbao’s situation with Llorente has many believing that he is now the Italians’ prime target.

However, whilst Marotta confirmed that he is under consideration, any move won’t force the departure of Alessandro Matri or Fabio Quagliarella.

“We give substance to those that we have. Like every club we try to improve our quality when there is an opportunity, if there are the players there who can help us leap forward then we will evaluate things.

“Llorente? We are waiting and watching the evolution of the situation, but we could pursue other contacts.

“Van Persie? Difficult to track. Arsenal does not want to lose him easily, despite the player being almost out of contract, they demand a high figure.

“Matri? He is not on the list of outgoing players, we consider him in all effects to be a Juventus player. Quagliarella? He’s a part of our project.

“Dzeko? His situation is always susceptible to change and he is certainly an important player, but he has a high price.

“These situations can evolve from morning to night.”

The dg also commented on Roma Coach Zdenek Zeman’s assertion that Antonio Conte’s ban for his alleged role in the match fixing scandal should also apply to training.

“I think it is unfortunate for Zeman to make such a bad statement. He himself says he does not read the papers, so you cannot give his words meaning. I hope that the President of the Italian Coaches’ Association takes a position on this matter.”

BOOM fuck you Zeman.

Roma:howler:

Can't wait to play this team.

Good point. But from the players perspective it'll really come down to what his motives were, and at times a lifestyle choice. His wife I presume will have a big say.

I have many memories of Zeman, but one which sticks very clearly in my mind is from May 2005 when he was the Lecce manager. In a game between Lecce and Parma that ended 3-3, he left the dugout ten minutes before the final whistle, turned away from the pitch and watched the stands until the game had finished, smoking a cigarette. I didn't understand it then and I still don't understand it now. I'd like him to provide us with an answer to that rather than getting involved in matters that don't concern him.”

any ambitious employer should be pissed if his human resources manager failed (not just once or twice, but thrice) to hire an important and much needed figure at the company (like say... a great marketer) even if he has done a decent job at finding good guys other positions.
How about that HR manager hiring cheaper personnel and still destroying all the competitors?

2011-12: €80m (Pirlo, Pazienza, Matri, Quagliarella, Pepe, Motta, Lichtsteiner, Vidal, Vucinic, Elia, Padoin)

2012-13: €35m (Caceres, Giaccherini, Giovinco, Lucio, Masi, Isla, Asamoah, Leali, Boakye, Bonatini, Pogba)
wasn't it 22M in the first year...

"Quagliarella? He’s a part of our project."

Look how he said Matri is staying and instead of saying something like "same goes for Quags", he says Quag's a part of the project. Yeah, the project of getting Pazzini. Everyone's a part of the project when you say it like that. It's official. Quag is gone.

But were Juventus! Our history demands that we buy the best of the best no matter what the circumstances are...be it, unimportant things like our budget, stature of the league, wages and all that useless stuff!

There is no competition in Italy. That's the sad reality :boh:
