Marotta gets raped for Del Neri. Gets no praise for CoWnte. :sergio:
It was Andrea agnelli who wanted Conte and had faith in him, this guy got us the brilliant Del Neri :sergio:

Not to mention Martinez, bonucci and Elia who combined cost the club close to 40 million. Not to mention some odd players that he got like Toni and others.

He's better than secco no doubt but he's faar below what this club should aim for.

Marotta is a quantity more than a quality kinda guy. He's obsessed with Mediocrity, Marinara Sauce, Loan Deals, Cheap Alternatives, and Serie A Experience. He wouldn't recognize quality if it hit him in the eye, and has to rely on Conte and Nedved to whoop his ass so he can get them some semblance of quality and steer clear of the pile of shit he's obsessed with, but if we finish in the top 3, there's absolutely no grounds for his dismissal or non renewal of his contract.

Sad but true :sergio: We might be stuck with this guy until 2015 and beyond :wallbang:
I'm convinced the latest activity in this thread is a reaction to the Borriello rumours. Anyway, thoughts and opinions on whether the following players are quality or cheap mediocre alternatives.

Pirlo, Vidal, Vucinic, Lichtsteiner, Barzagli, Matri, Quagliarella, Storari. Even include Dzeko and Agüero in that seeing as he went after them but they had a sniff of that oil money in Manchester.

I'd like to say that I think Marotta has made flaws.

Pirlo: Quality
Vidal: Revelation of the season thus far
Vucinic: Quality, but not a game changer; seems lazy and indifferent at times
Lichsteiner: Finally a true RB
Barzagli: He has turned out to be a pleasant surprise, but he was never quality, especially not before we bought him
Matri: A good striker, but in teams of Juventus past he would've been 3'rd choice at best
Quag: Same as above
Storari: A good backup; nothing more

Combine that with the acquisitions of Pepe, Motta, Pazienza, Toni, Martinez, Giacherrini, and numerous others, not to mention the failure to acquire a proper/quality LB, a commanding CB for the future, the money wasted on Bonucci, the false promises and lies of a star signing in the summer, and you can begin to understand my frustrations with this man.

I'm just grateful we have Conte and Nedved, as well as Paratici to whip him into shape if he goes insane with his transfer targets.

Frustrations with the man are understandable (I admit I'm not a fan of his, despite sometimes defending him), but I disagree with people saying he doesn't know quality. He's been slightly erratic in the way he's gone about things, last summer seemed like a very confusing time for him (the funds then wouldn't have helped, as he had to get half a team on a loan). Maybe last summers problems were also largely down to Marotta controlling the transfer policy, while Delneri didn't have a voice, and this season Conte is taking charge and naming the players. I just hope he listens to Conte anyway.

I wouldn't group Pazienza, Giaccherini and Pepe with Motta, Whore hey Martínez and Traoré.

are you aware the reason we are sitting on top of the table AND unbeaten is because of Pepe?

@ Lion: Seriously? The reason we are top is Pepe? How about our 3 man midfield? What about Vucinic and his contribution? How about Buffon returning to his best, and Barza being in the form of his life? Pepe has contributed significantly but to cite him as the main reason is laughable!

@ Ahmed: I'd love to see you try putting me to rest. No nukes allowed tho :p

@ILFJ: You have no idea son; come here and I'll show you what getting laid is all about ;)

@ Dru: Are you slowly warming up to the Society? What has happened to you? You're becoming soft ;)

no he IS the main reason.

he scored the equalizer againt Napoli.

he won us the matchs againt novara and lazio.

7 points that were vital in keeping us in top 10 of the league. yeah he isn't a great player, but if not for pepe, we would be fighting for an europa league spot, not the scudetto.
