The fact that we didn't renew his contract just yet is giving me hope. And rumours about disagreement with Nedved and Conte if true could be a factor when AA decide whether to extend his contract or no.

But if at the end of the day, a team that he had a significant part in rebuilding to the point where they could win the scudetto and/or qualify for the champions league after just two year on the job, would suddenly fire the guy?

Would that make any sense?

Now, if the minimum objective of making the champions league is not met, then by all means, that would be a justifiable reason to let him go. But if that objective, along with the added bonus of a Scudetto is met, then there would simply be no reason to fire him.

they would be starting all over again, and everyone who is sick and tired of revolutions taking place would have to endure it again. And if for some reason, the sporting director were to keep the majority of the players brought over by marotta the last two seasons, then that would look really stupid.

Only Marotta can have his team in 1st place without a loss and be on the hot seat with the fans lol.
It's a joint effort between himself and Conte. marotta cannot, and should not, receive the lion's share of the credit for the teams success, nor the lions share of the blame for the failures. If it is true that Conte and himself are working in unison, then the praise/blame needs to be shared equally.

who would fire a guy that signed three MVPs in their respective positions (barzagli, Pirlo, Vidal) for bargian deals?

yeah conte shares the credit for getting the best out of them, but as you said, marotta gets credit for getting them for peanuts.

why?

because he embarassingly tried to sell Pepe and Bonucci, not to mention fucked up on signing another CB in the summer.

oh and because he friggin' obsessed with Marco fucking Boriello and keeps trying to sign him every year.

and also seems incapable of fucking off Amauri.
