I should have known it was you.

I'm sure we'll find out if the team is better after more than 7 games.
You should know by know that I won't change my mind about Marotta, not now or later. I don't like his transfer philosophy, its just as simple as that. We spent 90 million and what do we have to show for it, Vucinic?

We spent 90M on Vucinic?

;)
No, we spent 90 million and we still didn't fix our wingers and our defense.

I'm not going to lie, I'm a fan of Roma's mercato and the philosophy of Sabatini. Would have loved to have that 90 million being spent by Sabatini being in charge. How many of Marotta's signings were talents let alone players under 23 years old? And how many of them are playing a big part in our team? I can think of Bonucci and Vidal, yeah, I guess thats it. I feel like most of his signings are players closer to 30.

Sorry Suns, when you start talking about Roma and Sabatini I just switch off, it's boring, it's 7 games in and we are above a Roma who looked pretty dire 1 week ago.

I wouldn't like to see a team of kids playing for Juventus. Roma players don't even have it close when it comes to pressure. They don't have a clue, not a clue. Roma are allowing themselves time. You want this philosophy. Yet 7 games in and you are whining about how the world is falling apart. Get a grip. Fans wouldn't allow Juventus to have this philosophy and you know it. Results.

'Oh it's ok boys, we are in 6th/7th again, but look at our nice young players who might come good next season'. Pfft. Results. Now. When you understand that then you see why our various directors go for experienced players. However, I don't agree that the players Marotta has bought are too old. I'm not going to sit here, AGAIN, and go through the various circumstances under which we bought the likes of Toni or Barzagli but we do not have an old team, it's around 26-27 overall.

I don't expect Roma to win the Scudetto, so lets stop there.

Signing younger players doesn't mean that we shouldn't sign anything else but young players. The older players we've bought are not better than the younger players Roma bought anyway. If we're going to sign more established players then we might as well do it right. Sign older players that are quality and worth it.

Thing is, you're taking all this time dissing Roma's mercato and asking for results NOW yet you won't criticize our mercato that still didn't address the winger and defensive issues. How are we going to get results now when our biggest problems from last season are still there?

Roma will not win the scudetto but they might finish above us. They also bought players they need and suit their demands unlike us who just bought for the sake of it.

90% of the people on this forum gave Marotta a passing grade for the past transfer campaign. So it's only logical to assume those same people were more or less happy with what happened.

And now, just a few weeks later, we're back at Marotta sucks, problems were not addressed, money was wasted, etc, etc, etc.

And the "funny" thing is that most of the current complaints & criticisms are coming from people who are/were part of that 90%. People should just make up their mind & stick to it, at least for some time.

By the way, this is not an attack on you (your post was just relevant & easy to quote) or any other individual, but it needs to be said.

Agree, and you'd see that Sabatini's mercato would be different at Juventus than it is at Roma. And yes, he'd be under more pressure. The proof will be in the pudding as to whether our players are better. That's come May, not October.

I don't 'diss' the mercato of any side, nor laud it, it's hard to believe but I don't actually care about other sides, nor do I sit there with envious green eyes looking at what my neighbour has in their garden. I'm only replying to the same few people constantly using Roma as a dick measurement for Juventus. They aren't, and it'd be worrying if they are. Roma is a little team with little history in a big city. Does that make you mad? If it does have a think.

I don't even see our wingers as an issue, with left back being my main concern in terms of positions. We've had 'defensive issues' for one game. What a crisis.

JJ, I am of your opinion in general, but do you really don't see wingers as an issue when we have the likes of pepe starting?

No, because we are talking about Marotta here and he also brought Elia (?), Giaccherini (positive) and Estigarribia (looked bright on his debut) to go with Pepe and Krasic (who we expect more from), so Conte's selection choices are the main issue in regards to Pepe starting. I mean, Pepe is ok, he does a job but is not a player who you will win you the scudetto. He should still be filling in for more established players like Krasic and Elia.

But like BF says, why are these other players not good enough now but they were at the start of last month?

That's because football fans tend to to have a very short memory.

Oh I totally forgot about Elia. Why isn't he playing? :?
