Well yeah, they do. Scudetto means that they do, or at least means it is not worthwhile making such a deal out of it. The financial and sporting value is balanced, because those bought cheaply were most key; Pirlo, Barzagli and Vidal.

Every director and club makes mistakes, we aren't even close to being in the top bracket for that.

When Lippi and Capello had their successes at Juve, was it based on good coaching, Moggi, or both?

Conversely, when Ancellotti did not do well at Juve (The same Ancellotti who went on to win 2 CL titles at Milan, mind you), was that the coaches fault, Moggi, or both?

i didnt but wait i actually did, your question's aim was to make the point that marotta has big hand in our success, i didnt have to specifically answer what you asked to dispel that by simply pointing out that he would accept mediocrity that someone like Moggi wouldnt. in other words it is still ridiculous to compare this guy to moggi. this btw is very similar to the guardiola arguments, which thankfully is put to bed by now.

That wasn't necessarily th e point I was trying to make.

The point that I was trying to make is that if Conte is to be deemed as the overwheming/only reason for Juve's successes the past 18 months, then the same should/could be said about the Lippi/Capello years as well.

I'm not trying to compare the two on a like-for-like basis, because despite my anger at Moggi for his part in what has happened, I would be foolish to compare the two. Insane, even. Moggi did some brilliant things, as well, yes, as well as his fair share in of failures in the transfer market.

Marotta has had a much smaller sample size, and despite the first year being a failure (Seems to me that people forget the 99-2001 years when Juve weren't the dominant force in Serie A as we are all accustomed to), the turnaround in the last 18 months has been great, and I just wish that everyone could just sit back for a moment and see the big picture in regards to this club's present and future. That's all.

He is certainly not above critique. Not at all. There have been more than several moves that left me shaking my head. The main reason why I didn't post on this forum was because I was so infuriated at the Bendtner signing, and told Dru and Cam that I would only come back once he socred. Then he got hurt, and I said to myself "Self, how much longer are you going to stay away?"

What I think has to be looked at from Marotta's persepcitve in regards to the overall work, was that he was given a mandate that this team needed to be rebuilt from the ground up, as the 2009-2010 version of the team, if left intact, was going to get worse before it got better. Were some mistakes made along the way? Certainly, but when you need to rebuild and buy that many players, its only inevitable that not all of the players are going to pan out. Not going to happen, I don't care who you are as a DS. Not one DS has a perfect record. It's only natural that some mistakes are going to be made.

hard to disagree with you, but if he plugs the holes in defense and attack with satisfactory choices it would be really hard to hold anything against him. like you said the duds are part of the trade.

My best friend is an Arsenal fan and when I told him Bendtner is coming to Juve and I was unhappy with that, he responded that maybe Juve got him to score in important matches. Apparently Bendter has scored many goals against big opponents but mostly failed to make an impact against regular sides. It's something to think about but, of course, its easier to blame Marotta and Bendtner for fucking up when the lad isn't scoring.
Sometimes I just wonder what is up with some of you guys being so hysterical, leaving the forums and shit, giving the player and Marotta all kinds of names.... Just chill guys. Juve is such a joy to watch and has an amazing team without real superstars. I most certainly agree that Bendtner was a gamble and didn't really work out for us, but at least we didn't overpay anything for him like we did back in the day for Diego and Felipe Melo.
It will all work out well, Juve won't buy him at the end of the season, he'll go back to Arsenal and I don't believe we'll be able to seal the deal with Llorente either.

Just bring back Immobile and Giandonato; they are still young, I'd much rather see them grow and reach their potential than some Spanish guy who'se contract would cost us millions. I consider that a much bigger gamble than opting for your own players.

wasn't specifically referring to you. Have seen many members pulling something like it. I don't post often but I check the forums regularly. You have every right to disagree with some decisions made by the club but try to keep your cool cause anger and frustration is not going to change anything. I do understand where it comes from though, last few years I have had the same problem. But eversince Juve started winning and playing like a champ I don't care what they do as long as we keep winning
