He is certainly not above critique. Not at all. There have been more than several moves that left me shaking my head. The main reason why I didn't post on this forum was because I was so infuriated at the Bendtner signing, and told Dru and Cam that I would only come back once he socred. Then he got hurt, and I said to myself "Self, how much longer are you going to stay away?"
What I think has to be looked at from Marotta's persepcitve in regards to the overall work, was that he was given a mandate that this team needed to be rebuilt from the ground up, as the 2009-2010 version of the team, if left intact, was going to get worse before it got better. Were some mistakes made along the way? Certainly, but when you need to rebuild and buy that many players, its only inevitable that not all of the players are going to pan out. Not going to happen, I don't care who you are as a DS. Not one DS has a perfect record. It's only natural that some mistakes are going to be made.
