In regards to Vieira, he was on a downward slope by then. He was a strong signing, but not close to being the player he was at Arsenal. Wenger uses Prozone on all his players, and Vieira was down in all of his stats by then.
LOL Vieira was at his best in Juve, since he was moved little bit forward he started to give assists and play more in attack because Emerson was covering DM position

He scored a couple of goals, he made a couple of assists, he was out vital player in the central zone, we won 9 games in a row and it's still record for us

You'd recall it better than me, considering it's obviously the season you started watching football.

Yeah, and like I said, he was very good for us. He really was. I'm just saying he was even better at Arsenal, which only is a testament to how great a player we're talking about here.

Anyway, enough derailing on my part.

He was playing too deeply in Arsenal, damn wish we could see more of him in Juve, Vieira is beast.

That's not true, they can change all the time, even as early as January.

I do agree with Jem in the sense that there will be little else for us to focus on next summer (or even Jan), aside from the usual youth recruitment, the squad is only missing one real element.
In terms of transfer fees and our wage structure, I don't see much changing as far as our outlook is concerned. Even Jan for example, if we see a fluctuation in transfer prices in the unlikely even that something drastic happens, its not going to change the wage situation at the club. All our current targets have renewed contracts to what we'd comsider our salary cap. So acquiring them now is going to have a knock on effect anyway, unless we get Llorente for example, for the amount we've promised him. Again, I think his position will be stronger than ours when he's a free agent. The way we keep pegging this market, it seems very unlikely we'll plug our gaps, if we are dependent on others.

Like I said earlier though, CL income, and this seasons domestic performance, may help us get that one element, but we'll be stretched again, IMO.

Impossible to like Marotta.
Impossible is nothing, the apologists will say. :D

You're talking about the market en masse, but I'm referring to the personal situation of players. It's those which will dictate if we are in a position to sign the players in question.

It's right that our philosophy, resources (?) and/or willingness to splash a certain amount on a fee and salary for a player may only change slightly or not at all, but we aren't sure how the situations for Dzeko or Llorente will change in January, for example, or indeed Jovetic next summer. There are all sorts of reasons why a player may want or be forced to leave.
