What makes you think that?

I've always stated on this thread that Marotta and Conte should share equally in either the blame or the plaudits for this team's failure or success at the end of the season.

I refuse to sit here and blame Marotta for everything that goes wrong, nor do I, or would, ever say that he deserves the Lion's share of the credit when things go right.

Conte and Marotta are working as a team, and its very easy to see.
That seems more out of necessity than structure Serge. I think Conte could've very well identified a majority of these players we bought this summer had he been appointed and had to work with another DS. Largely due to the fact that he had a very clear idea of the system and the personnel required to fit that system. Had Conte, not come in this summer, and Agnelli not stepped in to appoint him, we would've had another to deal with a similar story to last year. With Marrotta continuously chopping and changing the team.

Also, money.

It's not like Marotta was destined to recreate the Delneri season anyway, loads of things change each year, the year before joining us he made the CL with Sampdoria so must have done something right.
He had a fairly decent budget last year too. I don't know why we get fooled by the fact that we had more money to spend this year, just because we had Marrotta promise us players like Aguero and Pastore. Truth is, in both his seasons here Marrotta has had a lot of money to play with. Unfortunately, hes not had the brains to spend wisely enough on his own, and Conte's presence helped him a lot more than people seem to credit. When he hired Del Neri, who he knew ws a proponent of the 442, he made a lot of changes in terms of personnel, but didn't have the intellectual wherewithal to understand that the basic need of that formation was wingers and fullbacks. A competent DS would've addressed those issues first. Marrotta changed half the team without improving it, and he did this on his own, for most part. Del Neri was a puppet. Conte is not. That is, and will continue to be e difference between this year and last. Not Marrotta's ability or lack thereof.

His budget was alright last year, I think I worked it out that after sales he'd spent ~20m to get in all those players, there was a reason for the loans IMO. It wasn't really comparable to this season, I think Juve are the third highest spenders so far. I don't even understand the emboldened sentence.

Yeah, lets build Marotta a monument and give him the number 10 jersery to wear next season... That is some credit. Also the 100 mils given each year to spend is some credit awarded to him. Not a lot, but no one gives an average DS even 1/10 of that credit, so I consider it enough. Finally, let's postpone the monument and jersey announcements for after the season, cause if last season repeats itself - well, we might need a new face for the monument and a different name for the jerseys.
Did you even read what I wrote? This post is so retarded, I'm gonna stay out of this thread.
If we win the Scudetto, people like you will praise everybody but Marotta or you will praise Conte and critize teams like Milan and Inter for fucking up.

What I meant is, that just because he spoke of targets with big names and price tags, it seemed to most of us that we had a lot more to spend this year, vis a vis last year. Truth is, all the loans we finalised this year were part of the previous budget. And also, I think we figure above Shitty in our net spends in the two seasons that Marrotta has been here. If I'm not mistaken, Goal had done an analysis of all the money that was spent, with a break up of figures and loans, will try finding it for you.

Marotta: “The penalty was clear”

Systems, tactics, individual and group performances are certainly important topics, but just an event is enough to make all these words vain, because that single event can determine the development of a game. In Juventus v Siena, that event occurred, right five minutes before the final whistle: Chiellini crossed from the left and Vergassola carried out a real 'volleyball block’, with his arm extended and far from his body in order to stop the ball. A clear penalty, but referee Peruzzo didn’t detect it, despite of his good viewing position. Inevitably, at the end of the match, the Managing Director Giuseppe Marotta pointed out his disappointment, shared by the whole club: “We can’t speak only about mistakes in front of the goal and tactical circumstances, if then we overlook this kind of events. Today, we’ve been penalized due to a clear penalty which hasn’t been given, and if you notice we’re leading the table with just a penalty in our favour over 21 games. Traditionally, experienced officials are called to referee top table sides, usually also having international experience. A young referee can also feel himself psychologically conditioned when, some minutes before the final whistle, a penalty must be detected, even if it’s absolutely clear, because he can influence the result. We greatly respect the referee organization, but expressing our assessments is fair, as the game official is a fundamental element in every match. Therefore, we ask for more respect for Juventus.”

A little pressure on the refs won't hurt.

If we're honest, what happened today against us happened twice 3 rounds ago against Cagliari when the ref "didn't see" two handballs from our players, so I'm not sure if we can really talk about referees being anti-Juve. But it's our duty to speak loud about the mistakes against us and to even make it look like we are a target of the refs. That way we should get some big calls in our favor, especially from less experienced refs. Galliani has been doing this for years and it always works. I'm pleased that Marotta didn't stay quiet.

good point, but tbh, when compared to the top 6, we are heavely unfavored

“I’ve always said that the big teams need to have the best and most experienced referees. Certain games need experienced officials and a referee who knows how to handle difficult situations.

“Look at players. If you have talent then you can play for a big club when you are 16, but players who are not that good are sent out to smaller clubs to gain experience. It should be the same for referees.”

“Our first job was to work on quantity, then quality this year and we will see what we do next time…”

I wonder what we can expect. With Marotta you never know. With the CL and all, I wish we could stay in the quality stage for a bit longer, and maybe add one or two players with even higher level of quality. And I feel that Marotta still haven't really let go of the quantity stage.
