So? So if Juventus wasn't setting the bar so low Pirlo wouldn't have been playing for a top club in Italy right now after Milan dumping him.
Pirlo will prove to be a fine signing.

If/when Juve fail this season, I doubt it will be because of Pirlo.

So next time someone makes a promise and breaks it, it's ok for them to say "Hey my words are not God's words"? That'd work great for broken business promises/deals.
He's not my little brother or some friend who can promise to pay me back that five bucks he owes. He's the fucking SD for Juventus FC and a bad one at that. When your words hold that much water, you best believe you'll be held accountable for stupid shit you say.

Businesses work with contracts.

I'm going to go on a limb here and say that all the signings, except for the Vidal one, could have been made by Genoa. All the players that joined I think would easily accept playing for Genoa too if they weren't approached by us.

This mercato is absolute shit.

That's actually true, they could have signed Vidal aswell. Cause Bayer were never going to sell to Bayern, and no top club was seriously interested in him. Basically we didn't sign Vidal cause we were a top club in for a player situation, we signed him cause Bayer were never going to sell to a direct rival, he even stated Bayern was his first choice destination.

Had we done things differently since being promoted in 2006, we might have ended up with a squad comprising both Sanchez and Aguero now. We might have had a core of experienced players, 2-3 WC ones, and a core of young talents. We would have probably been more competitive in both Serie A and potentially consistently reaching the CL quarters.

Instead of revolution, we needed evolution. Baby steps was what was required. No panic buys, crappy coaches, and needless acquisitions. No Italcentric approach. We were actually doing pretty alright in both the 2007-2008, and 2008-2009 seasons. What went wrong?

The main problem was our poor recruitment of players prior to the 2009/2010 season and our poor selection of coaches (Ferrara and Zac). That was our crucial season, we really needed to have a decent run in the CL and to make it in the top four as well. We failed dismally on both counts.

As of now we are in the same situation we were in prior to the 2007/2008 season. No CL and trying to acquire players who will help us get into CL positions.Only this time theres only 3 spots and the depth/quality of the league is better now IMO.

Our old guard was too old and couldn't continue performing at the same level.

Obviously we never replaced Trezeguet, Camoranesi, Nedved, Zanetti and Del Piero properly.

Biggest mistake was letting go of Deschamps. Guy knew what he wanted and had a vision and good playing style. As stated before, it's because of the "bad mangement" :p
