And I'll never understand it.

By the way, Buck. It's revisionism*. ;)
Sure about that? :D

Very conflicting statements, nonsensical at best. De Ceglie has usually looked poor when he's played for the side, and arguably still plays poorly now. He's received his chances, didn't really impress (not more so than Giovinco), yet you defend one over the other. I can only imagine why that would be possible.

Fact of the matter is, other players can be horrible and receive more chances on the pitch, while someone like Giovinco is under far more scrutiny because of a reputation. Yet when it comes down to it, he's a better player than those that continue to receive chances... it's just that revisionists have a struggle to evaluate a player clearly without built reputation coming into the mix.

So you're cool with the fullbacks we have? Interesting.
I was only refering to the players we were linked to...
No one with small brain cell would be satisfied with our fullback. I thought that wasn't up for debate :shifty:

Both Marotta & Del Neri made it pretty clear that they absolutely did not want Cassano at Juve.
That's what I don't understand...
Maybe they didn't want to look they got rejected by Sampdoria! Who knows?

He spend about 20mil in total considering initial fee and player's halves for Bonucci, which is a decent sum, he also spent about 20mil+ in the Matri agreement, also overspent on Martinez who offered little to nothing, never justified the sell off of Diego and still failed to sell Tiago and i m sure that we gave to Toni+Barzagli a larger salary than they ought to have.

Marotta had some millions at his disposal and failed to manage them, not only optimally, but decently.
We can only guess about his degree of guilty, concerning the guidelines of our pathetic owners...
quite obviously a marotta supporter

I am. A Revisionist is a person, Revisionism is the act. :D
I'm pretty sure I'm a person though.
Unless you think I'm a God of course. It's a common mistake after all :D

They worked with him earlier. I'm sure that they have valid reasons for not wanting to work with him again. And I think that every single one of us can pretty much come up with those reasons as well, regardless of (dis)agreeing with them.

If its possible, I'd rather see us not spend those 26 million on Quag and Matri and just use that money for one quality striker like Cavani, Neymar, Benzema or if Agnelli is in mood he could add to those 26 million and sign Aguero :)

I honestly think Marotta did a decent job in the winter mercato considering we obviously had little to no budget avaiable.

The biggest achievement was getting rid of Amauri. Replacing him with Matri was a good move,we basically got him for free and are not obligated to buy him in the summer. Toni is a player who I'm sure will score some goals once he's back.

Replacing the reliable but old Legrottaglie with a younger, maybe equally good player is another good move.

Oh,and Forza ItalJuve:p

Matri - yes
Matri's price - no

Barzagli - yes
Barzagli's price - yes, good back-up imo, 300K is nothing in today's football.

Toni - get the fuck outta here, why him
Toni's wages - too high for my likings, way too high, he offers so little.

Amauri - just a loan deal..
Lanzafame - couldn't care less about it
Legro - don't know why, don't know why free to Milano

I don't know, only Barzagli was a very good deal to me

What exactly do you mean by "Matri's price"?It's a simple loan with option to buy, we are not obligated to buy him at the end of the season. Marotta himself confirmed that at today's press conference.

Toni is needed considering the constant injuries of Iaquinta. His wages are relatively low.

On loan or not, getting rid of Amauri was needed. If it's true that Parma pay his wages it's even better. Not sure about that though. Either way, replacing him with Matri is greatness and improves the squad, which is what counts.

Legrottaglie is 34 years old and had 6 months left on his contract. What exactly did you expect, especially in comparison to the Barzagli deal?

With Matri's case I don't think it's a simple loan, neither the deals with Pepe and Quag. This method gets recently used a lot in Italy, you just gain an extra installment. I liked Matri a lot, but never for this price.

Why would Caglari loan their best player for 2.2M? He don't want to play and is unmotivated if he didnt join us? He could train with Marchetti then..

Amauri just comes back. Unless he pulls a Tiago and is going to stay at Parma on loan for more seasons, till his contract runs out.

Legro, yes I know why he was going anyway but releasing him for free? Doesn't make a lot of difference, but I would've rather kept him since 6 month wages weren't killing us.

Why would Marotta lie if he's been directly asked about that matter by a journalist?Don't know whether you've seen Matri's presentation, but Beppe has made it clear that they will decide at the end of the season who to buy and who rather not. We surely won't buy every player on loan.

We are nicely covered at the CB position,no need for Nicola after Barzagli's arrival. No need at all. It was a simple substitution,Barzagli in,Legrottaglie out.

Marotta can say whatever he wants (btw, of course he wont say we'll buy the players regardless of how they perform, get long term injuries etc, because that could make the players complacent and he will use a negotiating tool to lower the price if the players completely underperform), but I'm 99,9% sure that w.e're buying Matri at the end of the season, as well as Quaq and Pepe. Only ones I'm not sure of are Aquilani and Motta.

As someone said, regardless of Marottas statements, why would Cagliari loan loan one of their best players for 2.5 mil €?

To be fair, this is year 1 of our rebuild, not year 5. In fact, this is worse than year 1. This is year -5 since we need to undo all the shit the old management did. That can't be fixed in 6 months.

This loaning first is just a creative way of financing. If this man pulled of loan deals without any obligation to buy Pepe or Matri, I swear I'll see Marotta as the second greatest SD in Juve history. We have to wait for the summer for the real answer to my toughts.

I know you're just joking about this but is there really people who care about if the team has an Italian core or not? Would anybody be disappointed if our was for example Chelsea?
