Could any other FW have pulled so many defenders away from him
This is a valid point when Dybala hits shots from 30+ yards out. And I agree that Higuain does provide this. The argument is whether Higuain provides it more than another striker would. For example, since Higuain is no threat to get in behind, does he really threaten the CBs more than Mandzukic or someone else?

And the 2nd thought is whether you gain more from Dybala sometimes finding space 30+ yards out or by having him constantly trying to get in behind or just in front of the CBs?

For me, I would prefer the 2nd option where he is just looking to get on the end of a pass, and you substitute his play in midfield with someone who can control a ball and turn.

Beppe, it's either Higuain or Dybala up top. But not both. It doesn't work. They have no chemistry. They are both #9s just taking turns shooting on goal and the defense and build up play is sacrificed too much to accommodate this partnership.
I am starting to agree with this. There is no control in midfield, and the Higuain/ Dybala partnership is not working. For me the first guy in the starting 11 should be Marchisio as the DM. We need somebody who is able to control the tempo of the game, and cover the defense.

I don't disagree. Dybala sure isn't a midfielder

Costa should play as an AM in 4312 formation . I think that will solve our problem.
Whenever he got theball in middle he made some amazing runs and becuase of his pace he could easily pass through mids something that Dybala can't do.

Dybala is not a pure CF so this play him in the middle alone thing is a bit nonsense.
What is a CF nowadays? Is Higuain more of a CF than Dybala? Higuain doesn't score headers and he's not exactly Luca Toni at bringing down balls.

Dybala is way closer to a #9 than a CAM. He shoots as soon as he is within 35 yards of the net. Head always down.

Mertens is not a pure CF, Messi isn't, CR7 isn't one either, and neither are guys like Mertens or anyone in the Man City lineup that's currently wrecking the EPL. This obsession with a pure CF to play up top is pure and utter nonsense.

Cronaldo is actually very good in the air. Dybala is a midget compared to him. You aware of CRonaldo leap right?

Messi doesnt play cf. Most of his club career he had another striker who was cf. Eto, Villa, Suarez. In la liga maybe he does but the average la liga defense sucks. Are you suggesting Messi should have played CF yesterday for Barca and they win the game then?

With our tactics and style it wont work out. Dybala has had his fair share of quiet games. You guys think had he played cf in the cl final he shined and scored?

Comparing Mertens doing it in serie a to playing big boys like Barca is also stupid. Where was he against Man city? 0 goals against Man city from Mertens.

Higuain is a cf. He was for Napoli also. His best probably would come out in a pure 3 man frontline.

Dybala was mentioned as the new Agüero very early on but now has been guided into a classic #10 role at Juve rather than the "9.5" he really is.
I cant categorize Aguero really. He has had his off days as well. Does he actually play CF for Arg?
