for for that new Veron we invested 9mil and to ease Bonucci's transfer, apart from the 15.5mil, we gave him away for 3,4mil.
Back then i didnt even know that it was standard Marotta procedure to sell everything we buy 2/5 of the price we got him, at best, as many times we give them away for free.
Its a considerable loss of capital that we are now used to it, but back then i wasnt and since the 3 transfers were tied to Bonucci's i included it them into taking account the sacrifices we , to make this transfer happen.
Of course Criscito was the worst part of it, it was demanded to make the Bonucci deal happen,
i used to rate Criscito, quite a lot! And considering the troubled nationalistic era we back then, with a maniac of only sign Italians for the wingback positions, ever since we moved Chiellini to the center and up until the day we have signed Evra, we were in a search for a proper LB and suffered countless tirtments in the hands of Molinaros and Grossos, losing millions and points in the process.
If we were to keep Criscito, he would be our starter even today, sdimply because we never managed to find anyone , because we were only looking for Italians and decent Italian LBs were extremely difficult to find.
And if you remember, Bonucci was not any better than Criscito back then, we only bought ootential, as Ranocchia was actually the man that held that Bari defense together, with Bonucci being the one passing around.
It was our nationalistic pride and lack of other options that forced us to invest that much on Bonucci and esp give him unlimited chances as a starter untill he becomes of age.
Ranocchia , a far better player, who was not given immunity and had to face serious competition has faded away, the same would happen with Bonucci and easier if we were not so nationalists back then...

Sandro was overpriced too, Porto is specialised at acquiring talent on the cheap and selling it for sweet profit. But at least we got him for his skills and not his nationality, or his looks and despite the heavy fee we paid for him, if he is not capable to bench the gratis , aged Evra, he is not given the starter mantle, as it should be, in a club as big as Juventus!

Cron please Paratici confirmed we paid as little as €4m cash for Bonucci, if anything the €15.5m mentioned was inflated:

Un esempio in tal senso è quello di Bonucci, un giocatore famoso e della Nazionale. Il primo anno fu massacrato e criticato, assieme a me.
You might like the last line, btw.

but Jay, they are retracting the cash we were given for those players we were not interested to sell and had to sell on the cheap.
its like getting dybala for 40mil, but to make the transfer happen, we had to sell them Vidal for 15 mil, instead of 36 Bayern gave us and then, those 15mil even count against the 40 mil we had to give for dybala.
yes we only give them 25mil plus a player, in that case, but the actual total loss is the money we lose for selling players on cheap. in reality the actual loss is the ammount we accept for the player we buy and the ammount we are losing from not selling our player to his market value!
