He had salary around 3-4 million per year and already 30 years old.

Big clubs do not need him. Big club can afford another great player.
Small club can not afford him. It's better for them to invest in prospect youngster with cheap salary.

padoin did play regista and so did lemina before. Hernanes was rarely used as the regista.

In any case what we are arguing is that he should have bought a regista to replace pirlo. Not just not buy hernanes and lemina

Hernanes used as regista more than three times.
You mean we should play padoin as regista against city and sevilla?

Who regista we should buy arround 11 million and accept to play as rotation option?
Is there guarantee he would do better than hernanes and would help us to get better result?

If we could not sell Llorente at 30, on 3-4 mil salary... I suppose we're looking at the same problem with Mandzukic in the next year or two, seeing as Mandzukic is 29 and on 3-4 mil salary. We should have just kept Llorente as our backup to Morata if that was the case. Or we should not be purchasing 29 year old strikers and giving them wages so high that we cannot sell them in the future.

Yes of course.
We would not get anything when mandzukic leave us unless there is a stupid club who want to pay like milan paid for matri.
We would not get anything when buffon, khedira, barza, bonucci, chiellini, marchisio, litchsteiner leave us.
We also would not get anything if we kept vidal.

With our injury record.
Is there guarantee that vidal and pirlo would stay healty? :lol:

Even he show something, you would not appreciate it.

Well, yes he is not champion.
But at least with him and lemina we have vice marchisio.

Hopefully, we do not need to buy player like him again because we are forced to do that.

They are not vice Marchisios in any effective sense. Lemina can't distribute to save his life. Hernanes could have done that job a long time ago but not anymore.
