what do you think Zaza is worth at the time we got him?
10 mill at the very most and even then I would think he would be surplus to requirements. I don't usually care about a few extra mills paid for someone or saved on someone I care about results in the end. We have Morata and Mandzukic as ST both of which are very good. For the sake of results the money should have been spent on ready made SS or atleast dybala sub, ready made Regista and ready made CAM. Not future signing SS and depth signing CB, ballwinners and LB. We made some good deals and some bad deals on a deal by deal basis but we didnt prioritize and left the most important roles in the squad empty.

Marotta: "Allegri never asked for a trequartista"
once again shows how dumb marotta actually is, what an absolute lie and shows how out of sync our management is with the manager... no wonder Conte left

- - - Updated - - -

"....Marotta was also asked whether there was any synergy with Sassuolo, who are often linked to Juventus in the transfer market.

“They're not our second team. They're ahead of us in the standings, and they deserve to be.

“They're really developing their talents and they're undergoing some interesting operations with us, such as that of [Simone] Zaza, whom we purchased for an appropriate price.

“Starting from the next day we began receiving offers at a higher price, but we believe in the player.

“I'm also thinking of the purchase of the first half of [Domenico] Berardi and the re-purchasing of the same by the Emiliani, who can negotiate him with anyone.

yep, 10M would do if he was 30 or so and not wanted by his club anymore. Zaza had 3 seasons in which he proved himself already. 12/13 age 21 Serie B 18 goals, 13/14 age 22 Serie A 9 goals, 14/15 age 23 Serie A 11 goals. he was on the uprise and was starting for the NT. price justified unless you think this is 2005. the rest of your post is pretty much irrelevant since it has nothing to do with what you were loling at. also, in case you forgot, we got 7.5M for him a year before so its actually very close to the price you named.

Without that 7,5 million, it was big possibility that we could not buy morata since we had big lost cause of out of CL.

exactly this. Sassuolo even did us a favor back then, they had no need to buy Zaza for that much when he was going to stay there anyway

what was the length of his contract at inter, coz that would tell us how he was amortized
http://www.football-italia.net/44648/official-hernanes-joins-inter

here it says 4.5 years

Finally, it is official – Hernanes has signed for Inter from Lazio on a four-and-a-half year deal.

Having completed his medical with the Nerazzurri earlier this afternoon, fans have been waiting all evening for an official announcement.

And with minutes of the January transfer window left, the San Siro outfit have confirmed that the Brazilian playmaker his signed from the capital outfit until 2018.

A statement on Inter’s official website read: “F.C. Internazionale wishes Hernanes a very warm welcome to the club. The Brazilian midfielder's transfer from S.S. Lazio has now been completed and all the paperwork filed with the Lega Serie A.

“Born in Recife on 29 May 1985, Anderson Hernanes De Carvalho Viana Lima has 23 caps and two goals to his name with the Seleção. He also won the 2013 Confederations Cup with Brazil.

“Among his honours at club level, he boasts two Brazilian championship titles with São Paulo (2007, 2008) and a Coppa Italia with Lazio (2013).

“Hernanes has put pen to paper on a four and a half year deal that runs to 30 June 2018.”

I simply can't belive there's people still trying to defend that Zaza deal.

Anyway, Marotta lost the plot. The guy is lying like a bitch. Don't believe in one word he says. Signs of desperation, since his very bad mercato is reflecting on the team. He overhauled the squad without a direction, that's a big deal.

Definitely don't trust him anymore. If this season is confirmed as the bust it is so far, he should be fired along with Allegri.

i looked at the original interview and i dont see the financial loss part all i see is loss
He said: "La sua cessione ha comunque generato una minusvalenza all'Inter."

"minusvalenza" would be "depreciation" or "loss", so I think "financial loss" is a decent translation, as saying "his sale represented a loss for Inter" could be taken as meaning a loss in terms of what he offers on the pitch.

so if we amortize 18 mil equally over that period then hed be at around 11 mil at the time of the sale, also i looked at the original interview and i dont see the financial loss part all i see is loss
does the salary count into amortization though or its simply 18M spread over 4.5 years? maybe there is a slight loss there considering he still had 3 years left on his contract

Either way is a pretty ridiculous statement/justification
