Wait, I don't think you're getting what I'm saying. I'm not criticizing Beppe for giving him 4.5M wages. Most players leaving on bosman earn huge wages. What I'm disagreeing with are those people who are putting blame on Llorente for not accepting lower wages just because we can't seem to prioritize things. It would be an even bigger "$#@! you" to these people if Llorente actually lowered his wages in Seville and we also failed to get a transfer fee for him.
If you are referring to these people as Marotta, well i'm sure the great man knows whats his doing even though he has his bad moments with the transfer market. We need to see more of this transfer dealing to see what is it about. Is it firm no transfer fee, or maybe Isla is part of the package, maybe we get some preference for some their players in the future or maybe we had some kind of gentleman agreement with Llorente back when we took him for free from Bilbao. You know there is more that meets the eye . But what is apparent is Llorente cannot generate the kind of transfer fee that we were hoping for mainly cause he isn't that attractive as an option to buy combined with because there is no money in the rest of the clubs in the league.

Oh really, and WHO exactly is doing that ?

Minutes ago, you were crapping on Marotta in different threads, and how "people defend him" on this deal, and now you "are not criticising"

Seriously ? Do you even read your own posts ?

ANd now suddenly, you switch to attacking people who "criticize llorente" ?

All of that while attacking me trying to defend Marotta that this isnt that bad ?

Klin, see a therapist, seriously

"on a tight budget"

You just can't catch a break.
See, this what you do

You make contradicting posts, while giving as much negativism and criticism as you can. Then go in threads acting like "but i dont criticise marotta, i criticise this imaginary poster"

Seriously man. Seek medical help before tis too late

Ah, so there's a hidden clause somewhere in the deal, right? Like with Berardi on Zaza's deal? Alright.

No I am not gonna claim i have the magic ball like some here does where they can predict how Zaza deal is influence by Berardi's.
What I am saying is probably something in the deal we need to see more as the transfer unveils or maybe its just plain case of no one wants to take Llorente on a permanent deal where Marotta only get loan request and then great man think "If i let Llorente go on a loan, i still have to endure his wage come 16/17 when he returns, screw that I am gonna cut the lost now it self".

Gotcha, but Seville knew we were desperate to sell. Seville knew we already got his replacements and more. Seville knew we only had 1 week to sell him. Seville knew we need to buy another player so we need (to free) money.

The timing was all wrong, and I'm hoping Isla's case would be different.

Nah, these deals usually drag out to the end. Sevilla was about the only team interested to whom he'd actually wanted to go. We needed to sell him more then they needed another striker

no ,we obviously screwed up by not selling him earlier to FC Nonexist. we dragged his sale and now are forced to release him

We weren't forced to release him, it was the perfect thing to do. That Zaza camouflage to the deal was a stroke of genius to set him for free.

OK one more reply.

agreeing to buy Zaza last summer definitely screwed up selling Llorente. Llorente refusing to go to Monaco (who were ready to match his wages btw.) for 10M and not wanting to go to England didnt screw up selling Llorente. you figured it all out

This is the part thats a bit odd.

We need a backup. zaza and llorente are fine. Not beeing able to sell llorente and keeping him as backup but loan zaza made sense. Suddenly changing idea's into keeping zaza and terminating llorente ?

You'd think something happened that we needed to free up wages suddenly ? :boh:

Wow never expected a board meltdown over Llorente. A player that cost us $0M, will cost us $9M this year, and who everyone hates.

If it helps you guys sleep at night, just pretend we sold Llorente for $2M and when Rugani is worth $40M after this season, just subtract it from that.

If only I could use your words. I knew it was the best thing to do is release Llorente for free but I lacked that style of presenting the information.

that's what cracks me even more! it was the perfect strategy! At first they wanted him for 10m then once they knew he only wanted spain the tried for peanuts. So we were about to loan out Zaza and keep Llorente.
So they out of disperation bid for him. But then what?!?!? we keep Zaza and free Llorente? I don't understand this strategy anymore
