my favorite is one people say we released llorente to sevilla because he wished it. and sold vidal because he wished it, and tevez because he wished it.

make a wish foundation cant grant wishes this fast. juventus making mircales happen for sick children!
Because Tevez didnt explicitly thanked juventus and said that he wished it, Vidal who in his conferences said he wished it ?

Llorente hasnt yet, but looks like it aswel

I have to admit, this man finds it hard to sell :D I mean he has improved somewhat, but it's still clearly his biggest weakness. Surely we got have gotten a measly €5m out of Sevilla? Would have been better than nothing.

Need a playmaker still.

But the squad is already stacked as hell either way
It is. We've added youth, quality and experience in every position. Sign this playmaker and it's a near-perfect "buying" mercato. We've really regenerated and refreshed the squad. Beppe just needs to learn the art of selling players. It's still a big weakness of his, even though he has improved from his early days (to a degree)

just terminate the contract and we are done.

Some moves were inevitable.

2 big mistakes though: selling Vidal and signing Zaza. Mainly selling Vidal, obviously. Should have hold onto him. Too many changes on a summer, the transition should have gone smoother.
No. Selling Vidal wasn't a mistake. The player clearly wasn't convinced by our ability to win the CL. You don't keep players who aren't mentally prepared to stay anymore and want out.

The problem is the €37m, which is a bit low IMO. We really shouldn't have sold for anything below €45m. But again, we aren't privy to every single detail of the transfer.

He said what any player would have said at Bayern, and he wasn't actually lying. Bayern has much more chances we have to consistently contend.

If Marotta really wanted to, Vidal would have stayed.

I don't believe this. I really do think after the CL final loss his mind was made up. He wanted out. And when a player mentally checks out and doesn't want to be around, you sell. No questions asked.

Agreed. Don't know why people are taking Vidal's words so literally. He has to say that now that he is a Bayern player.

I think the transition has been about as good as you could have hoped for except for the Vidal move. I think we $#@!ed up a bit by selling him with no plan to get a #10 in here.

The thing is the transition has been more gradual than we realize. Today we wake up with Rugani, Coman, Sturaro, Dybala, Morata, Sandro, Pereyra, Berardi. Where did all this youth come from?

I think we can all remember Inter's dominant teams and then how quickly they fell apart. It was like a switch flipped and they turned to ash. Marotta is just doing his best to prevent that.

And for every small misstep he makes, he takes one giant step forward that we never properly acknowledge. Coman for $0 and now we have $20M offers a year later? That's a big positive for me. Rugani for $7M and now we're laughing at $22M offers from our rivals? It's like stealing. Marotta probably made at least $40M in added value from those 2 players alone and we don't even think about it.
I agree, actually.

Tevez and Pirlo leaving was inevitable. But the Vidal one.. we should have hold on him with all we got. He could leave next season, maybe. But to lose this 3 guys at once is very tough, specially Tevez.

But you're right, Marotta has silently been bringing a lot of young talent to the club in the past 2 seasons.

You may be right, but it's a long shot imo. I'm basing on what always happens: you show a worker the money, the guy wants the money. Bayern offered a big contract and he accepted, as simple as that.

I'm sure a contract renewal would have hold onto him. That's the basic assumption on any player transfer, the winning CL thing is a long assumption and imo there are no elements to support this conclusion. His interview at Bayern was pretty standard.
