The issue, and irony, is that they have a very communistic way of threating their sports. Very centralised, very equal wages. And that is an issue for the quality of the sport

Sure, MLG is very naive, and has everyone attacking with open helmet. But for the players its horrible. Got a problem ? Well MLG has your contract and you are transferred on the club's desire.

I get it. they want to avoid clubs making huge losses. But they could do that in different ways.

Contracts should be by the clubs, let MLG regulate clubs making depts and signing players, but this crap.

Hehe, c'mon guys. Just a few months back the majority agreed that we needed to address the issues on the offensive end. We needed more creativity and pace on our offense. We clearly had issues creating in the CL. We had guys like Sanchez, Iturbe and Nani on mind and now we're trying to justify signing more midfielders and strikers who won't even make resolve our issues let alone make our starting eleven?

This team never needed depth, we had and still have great depth. Actually a formation switch to 4-3-1-2 gives us more options in less positions(Asamoah goes back to midfield, 2 central defenders instead of 3). We needed 1 or 2 players to make a difference and raise the level of this team.

We are so close.

If there is opportunity for that kind of signing I expect us to take it, 20-25m might be within our reach, but strengthening the bench in the mean time is wise, considering some of the atrocious players we had and rarely have these been of any use to us, Padoin, Peluso...

“It’s very simple. Vidal extended his contract with us last season, as there was a reciprocal desire to continue this rapport,” noted Marotta.

“There is no reason for him to leave. Yesterday he gave an interview in a rushed and embarrassed manner, as he was getting his luggage and so was misinterpreted.

“I can assure and confirm Vidal is happy to be with us and there’s no reason for alarm. He had these problems with the knee injury and rushing the recovery for the World Cup, so will take a while to find his fitness.

“Nobody can doubt the quality of the player, nor how strong his bond is with Juventus.”

Would Marotta be surprised if Vidal asked for a transfer?

“Absolutely yes. It is a very remote chance, considering what the lad is like, and so I’m not even considering the possibility.

“The situation around him is typical of the transfer market when several big clubs admire him. Vidal exploded in a fairly unexpected way over the last two years to become one of the most important players in the world.

“He is naturally linked to big clubs, but I’ll point out Juventus are a big club too and we intend to hold on tight. I don’t get the sensation he wants to leave us.”

Marotta was also asked about their search for a striker after a knee injury ruled new arrival Alvaro Morata out for 50 days.

“So far we are satisfied, as we achieved the targets we were aiming for, when it comes to the profile of the player needed.

“We are keeping a close eye on the evolution of the market, though obviously there are many problems with clubs who own the players we are interested in. It changes hour by hour.”

The main name linked with the Bianconeri is Samuel Eto’o, who is a free agent.

“We’ve never talked about Eto’o. The squad needs at least five strikers, so we are missing someone, especially considering Alvaro Morata’s injury.

“Whether the target is Eto’o or someone else, I prefer not to say. As Giovanni Trapattoni said, in this market don’t say cat unless it’s in the bag.

The majority of those that allways complain, yes.

When you have Pogba, Pirlo, Tevez, llorente, you should not complain about "offensive issues", especially considering our scoring charts in serie a.

What we need is to step into the CL with the correct mentality. And a bench that allows rotation so we can keep players sharp and fit.

We are adressing these issues. It would be nice if we can add Shaqiri for Allegri's preferred style, but its not mandatory

Man, I'll be honest. If it stops here this mercato has been a disappointment, and kinda useless actually for our European goal.

I disagree with this. Yes Conte didnt rotated... but when your only midfielder to rotate are padoin and Isla,, i can understand why he was frustrated in some way...and why we overused Pogba and Vidal so much. On top of our tired players...our formation was simply not working like it should because of lack of quality on the wings.

I know is kind of frustrating that everyone is/was waiting for a new shiny toy to destroy in the CL, but i really think that this depth signings will do us a world of good. Why?:

First and foremost... im pretty sure that the board will try to use this season as a transition one. We just lost our coach, and we are one year away from some nice monetary deals. If we aim to go further in the CL, we can also get more money, like we should.

1- We all know that we crashed like noobs in the CL, but we can also agree that our team didnt failed because of lack of quality. Our team had a lot going for them to pass the group stages... but blunders, bad substitutions and terrible approach to games simply took us down. If we can fix those aspects this season...we surely can pass the group stages and even the first KO phase without much problems.

2- Our starting 11 was good enought. But our tactics were lacking.Apart fromt he good displays against madrid,,which IMO were the hight point of the campaign....we simply looked in "automatic" mode in most of the games. Grinding results and depending on muscles and moments of magic to win. We cannot depend on those 2 factors the whole season. And on top of that we had too many overused players who could not be rotated.

Im confident that we will get surprised with he performances of Coman and Morata, and they will contest the first team spots... turning them into actually reliable starters instead of "more padoins". They seem to have quality. Evra is a nice adittion , and lets see what pereyra has.

The important thing, is that if we improve on what we did last year...with a new more attack minded formation, for sure we can do a nice job this season.

Im totally convinced this team can do much much more. Lets se what plans allegri has.

Exactly. We have players with different offensive characteristics who can maybe perform if given some sort of different role. Coman, Pogba, Giovinco, Vidal. All are good going forward.

What we need now, is for Allegri to get the better of them and try to have a different approach than Conte, maybe he can discover something.

Wow.

Marotta got $#@!d and robbed in this Pereyra deal. We're spending up to 17M on this guy???

This is absurd.
this is true...those 17 mils are embarrasing. Why Udinese is always ripping us?. This is seriously annoying.

Just curious: How much money has this Marotta guy wasted on restrengthening our bench, with players who are supposed to have an impact on, just for them to be proved useless and marotta selling them for half the price, and then him back on the market again for new bench players to replace the previous bench players?
