Good posts by both of you, @ALC and @King of Kings.

I really want Pogba to stay, but I have to agree with Sergio that selling him for 60 million could also benefit us.

If we sell him for way less than that, though, it would be a tragedy, but 60 million is a lot and I know that the Great Man could get us two WC players for that sum. Or at least one WC player and one very good one.

Hopefully Pogba stays on, but it's not gonna be the end of our progress to sell him for a mammoth fee.

How the fuck does he go from being hated by that awful first season to becoming the awe of not only the Italian clubs but respected in all over Europe as well? Man, that man has gone a long way from when he hired Del Neri and signed Motta, Martinez and Pazienza to toying with other teams and turning everything into gold.

A learning process, I would imagine.

But I think that would have been the same for any Sporting Director who had to make that monumental leap from a mid table squad to a team like Juventus.

I mentioned Napoli because Cheesio had mentiond them first.

Ok, let's say for the sake of argument that you can't ge three quality players for 60 million. Could you get two high quality wingers for 60 million? I would think that you could, and with a midfield rotation then of Pirlo, Vidal, Marchisio, Asamoah, and Guarin is certainly an improvement when you add two wingers of quality.

Juve can't compete with Barca, Real, City, Chelsea on a financial level, so unfortunately, moves like Pogba may have to happen. Do I want to see it happen? Of course not. But that's the harsh economic reality of it. Juve will eventually need to sell players like Pogba in order to fill out other positions of their squad. Might as well do it while the iron is hot.
60m for Pogba? PSG just paid 60m for Cavani and Cavani is an excellent player but he's no Pogba who is the golden boy of the world right now and much, much younger. Let's not forget that PSG will do everything to get their hometown boy back and they are loaded with money. We should be getting something north of 70m.

The problem though will be what to do with the money. First of all, the whole world will know we just got paid and nobody will want to sell us without asking for absurd prices. Second, we must realize that even though we sign a few 25m+ type of players they will still ask for big wages and those 70m won't pay of a 5m a year wage for 2 or 3 players.

At the end of the day, I think keeping Pogba around is big. Not only is he a brilliant player but having him around gives this team some much needed prestige. He's one of those stars that fans love to watch and talk about. He has that Messi, CR7 and Zlatan potential, a real superstar. Like it or not, he will bring us a lot of money. This team needs superstars like him around.

It's weird and tells you how important actual results really are. I mean, like this Guarin signing for example. Not many people understand why and Inter fans have wanted him off their team for so long but the first thought that comes to my mind is "well Beppe thinks he's good, then he must be no matter what Inter fans say". 2 years ago I would not be happy with this transfer at all and probably expect the worst.

Selling Pogba :howler:

Guarin is so over-rated in these parts. We are giving Inter a quality striker (our most productive and important striker over the past two seasons) who happened to be a major contributor in our past two Scudetti victories. Why couldn't we just give them that sorry sack of S^%& called Giovinco?!

Guarin for Vucinic is definitely a trade that favors Inter. They get a quality striker, and we get a CM we don;t even fucking need. Good job Marotta. The only way this deal makes any sense is if Guarin is actually going to be fucked off somewhere else (EPL for Lamela or Mata perhaps). Otherwise, the trade makes zero sense in my book. Moreover, if this trade in someway signifies that Pogba is gone by the summer, then fuck it.
