I think you're missing the bigger picture here. A player like Donnarumma would never reject a €8M contract without agreeing terms with another club first. He knows exactly where he's going. That's for sure.

Selling Szczesny was always going to be the issue.

Teams only need 1 starting 'keeper and there aren't many looking to make a change this summer. Then there are very few teams who he would likely be willing to join.

Putting it into more perspective, he rejected 8M (2M raise on his already inflated wages) from his boyhood club that trusted him with the captaincy and gave him everything including signing his dumb brother just to please him.

Him not signing yet could be for strategic reasons aswel. At the moment Szczesny is our number 1 goalie, if Dollar signs Tek will turns into a expensive bench sitter who we have to sell; his value will drop. A dry loan seems more realistic at that point.

Besides if we look to the club at the directors level, Paratici just left, Allegri and his team just signed. Cherubini and Arrivabene aren’t official yet. The mercato is still very early days.

I don't see Tek as the person who'd make such a strong comment and then leave eventually.

I also don't see us keeping Tek on the bench with his salary and our current financial situation.

So I simply don't see it happening anymore even if I'd welcome Dollar with open arms. Still the smart thing is simply to invest in young quality midfielders, maybe a LB and striker before anything else.
That might as well be Allegri's input, whereas Paratici negotiated with Raiola since January.
