His agent asked Juve to sell him.

GREAT NEWS!!!

Gigi on TV said that he went to see our board and said when are we gonna start winning? If I have to wait a year ok, if it's 3-4 then there's a problem. He then says they assured him they'll win fast and build a very good squad. He also said he's happy about Cannavaro and Diego. He's also expecting another big signing. He then goes by defending his manager...

"I'M STAYING!"

FORZA GIGI!!!

Props for getting our board to act and make things happen. :mark:
I demand an apology from you Marky!

great news it wouldve really hurt the compactness of our squad. losing him wouldve not only hurt us talent wise but clearly also leadership wise and we wouldve lost a certain something irreplacable withing the current team.

forza gigi, hopefully what the board said is true and we will make some quick signings to return us to the top ASAP!

Buffon seeks assurances
Monday 11 May, 2009
Juventus goalkeeper Gigi Buffon has asked for guarantees that the club will be in a position to compete for silverware in three or four years' time.

Buffon was visibly upset last weekend during and after Juventus' 2-2 draw with relegation threatened Lecce.

The Italy No 1 mouthed “I cannot take this anymore” to the crowd and reportedly stormed out of the dressing room at half time.

The Bianconeri have fallen off the pace in Serie A, dropping to third place, four points behind Milan and nine points behind Inter.

“I too needed some clarifications,” Buffon told Domenica Sportiva. “I first spoke with John Elkann, and then with Jean-Claude Blanc.

“I didn't look for particular guarantees that we will win something next year, but a guarantee that in the next three or four years we will be in a position to compete for major honours.

“We have lived through a decline that we didn't think possible,” he added. “We have to start again conscious of the fact we want to win.

“We can have one crisis in a season, but not two, three or four like has happened this year,” he concluded.

Major +rep to Gigi. While maybe he let his frustrations out a little too publicly a week ago, I really appreciate how his mind is working here. He's clearly passionate as a juventino and wants to see the same drive for success from his management as he has in himself.

I'm proud that this guy is our vice-captain. I really am.

It is of course possible that Gigi never had any plans to leave and was merely making the threat to force the Board to get their collective finger out.

Or not.

Word. It will be a nice to see him take over as Captain when Ale decides to hang them up.

Gigi is probably like, "Diego... nice. Now WTF are you doing to keep me from being fully exposed on the backline and cursing into our own net??"
