TBH, I dont think Gigi is the most stable person in the world mentally, that is I think that he needs the right enviroment to play well, and when he doesnt have the right motivation he plays poorly. Maybe it's time for him o get new motivation elsewhere.
I agree, he's been remarkably calm through all this. Even Alex you could sense was getting fidgety. Not to mention Trez who's always been a bit on edge. And what the hell is up with Camo sucking and getting sent of all the time. Our "senators" are really starting to lose it.

Unfortunately they are starting to loose it. They aren't used to this loosing mentality and it's slowly driving them all insane. It's a huge shame though because they are our most important players.

If Manchester City offer 70 million, unfortuantly for the future of Juventus I would take it. I would want guarentees that the money would be re-invested in Juventus and not lining Elkanns pocket.

Cmon man, it's a stupid idea and let's just call it what it is. People around here want Diego or others like him. Now what is Diego thinking? "Well gee, Buffon I think is the only world class player they have. Is that really where I want my career to go? I mean sure some of the others used to be good but they're all aged and who knows how long they can keep that team together? In 3 years is it gonna be just me and Buffon?"

And that's with Buffon.

Yeah, we sold Zidane, but we didn't exactly leave ourselves bare. He was something of a luxury anyway. Who else did we sell that worked out really well? Vieri. Yeah, that was a great move, until it turned out he became the best striker in the world, just not while he was here. And Henry, another good sell. And heck, Milan got rid of Davids, that was clever wasn't it. Just because we ONCE happened to sell the best player in the world AND it happened to work out doesn't mean it's always going to work out.

How exactly is it a stupid idea?

Are you seriously telling me you wouldn't take 50 million Euros for Buffon?

Look, I'm not happy with losing great players such as Buffon and Zidane, but this is a business here. We need to begin a new era, Martin. And that requires money.

If we can make do with the capital we have now, then that's even better.

If I'm gonna agree to sell Buffon then I first better have a really good reason. I'm not going to sell him for money and then figure out what to do with it. There needs to be a strategy. This "let's get some money" strategy is worthless.

Selling him would be stupid, finding a superstar goalkeeper is the hardest thing they are not like out filed players which will always be around. Knowing how our club operates now what are the chances the money would be spent wisely. When we sold Zidane we had Moggi who knew what his job was and did it right 9 out of 10 times.

If we did have to sell him would should be getting no less than 50 Million, I saw today that Milan were going to offer 15 Mil and Abbiati

15mil and Abbiati! What a joke. That man isn't worthy of cleaning Gigi's cleats. I could only justify selling him for some Man City mega money and only if we picked up Frey also. Otherwise no. Don't want Handanovic or Manninger as my no. 1 sorry. Manninger did well to fill in for a while but I don't want him starting every game.

So you'd take our defense and Buffon over Chelsea's defense and Cech?

In the whole scheme of things, as much as I love Buffon, I'd have to choose Chelsea's defense. Goalkeeper isnt the only position on the pitch, and having Buffon alone won't mean we'll win anything.

But as I stated, if we can make do with the capital we have now, then that's great as we could keep Buffon.

Yes, he has been poor.
Of course you can't expect him to single-handedly bring us victories, concidering the 4 idiots playing in front of him, but there are matches when he doesn't make a single save and he concedes 2 or 3 goals.
He made his name exactly because he's the keeper who brings 15 points to his team per season with his saves. He doesn't make these saves this season. I remember 1-2 saves from him in the last 6 matches. 90% of the on target shots were goals.

No need to deny this. Gigi is having a very poor season. Just compare him with Julio Cesar. The Brazilian brough at least 15 pts to Inter with his miraculous saves. Gigi hardly brought us 2 pts.
I think the word poor is badly used here in the first place, you make sound like he is Hilario Gomes gifting opponents goals left right and center. The man has been injured for half the season and he comes back for a shit defense that recently lost all motivation which was the driving force behind it.

It makes a big difference if a keeper has to make several world class saves rather than just one or two of those. They go overlooked because he conceded. I discussed this with someone here before, the keeper gets his confidence from the defense and what can this man gain from those idiots ( and i include chiellini there).

Also, i think he gave us more than 2 points this season, just go over the tapes and you will find him making saves where his defense hung him out to dry.

Thank you

Its not just pulling power because he is a world class superstar. Its also the fact that he loves this club and he is one of the carriers of its identity to the new comers. He is someone who gives a damn and that was best shown by the Lecce game while some of the other players just let their heads down. We need this mentality in this club now more than ever because we in grave danger of losing its identity.

I'm sorry, but this doesn't make any sense, Martin.

Money doesn't grow on trees, you know.

I'd take our Buffon over more Tiagos and Almirons. Show me a single piece of convincing evidence that I shouldn't think we're completely gonna waste the money we get for Buffon.
Of course, we'd certainly have to have a plan for the money. And yes, no more Tiagos and Almirons.

So what you're basically saying is that we need to remove the management. Now that I agree with.
