Zoff is an old sack of shit that is completely forgotten unless someone digs deep into history before it mattered.
And the reason he's forgotten, is Buffon. And everything people once admired Zoff for, is surpassed by Buffon.
Buffon one could say, has been so good, he has effectively erased Zoff's name from the book of Legends and put his own name in his place.


In Belgium, we got a goalkeeper with the same issue : Pfaff. Once a legendary goalkeeper. Now when asked about Neuer for example, refuses to answer the question and only talks about himself.
