i dont care if it would take an entire year for him to get back at a form thats decent for him.

he is a leader, a champion, a massive boost for the defence to have, and for a keeper, he has many years to go.

sacrificing amauri to buy a nonretarded forward however, would work.

We missed the boat, clubs were offering 30 million pounds if you believed the rumours just before the world cup. And i actually wanted that to happen because at his age that kind of money doesnt come around every week.

But seriously, if united turned around and said, 15 million plus a player like Evra, wouldnt anyone consider that? 15 million can get us a quality keeper, and we would fix our left back problem.

Just a thought, i really think these days if clubs are offering big money for older players, its worth cashing in on them and making the most of the situation.

Big money? I doubt any club is actually going to offer more than 20/25M for him, and that is not exactly big money for the best goalkeeper in the world.

Why do you want to change the only position we can say for sure we are settled in for the next 6 years?

I think that the only club, that can afford Gigi is Man Utd (as Real, Barca and Chelsea have their strong goalies, teams like Arsenal do not have that kind of money and cant bring Gigi any trofies, teams like Man City are a joke and Buffon already said that) and even if Buffon and his agent and everyone at the club said many times he is not for sale and will stay at the club for sure and etc, if a real offer from Old Traford comes, I am sure that Marotta will "evaluate all offers" (or whateva he said) and will try to cash in on Gigi. I hope this wont happen and Buffon will return to his best form, stay with us for the end of his career.

One thing that worries me, the situation with Marchetti and Cagliari, he is out of the team and I dont know what will happen, is there any chance he`ll cancel his contract with Cagliari and leave the club. If something like this happen, and there is a possibility to cash in on Buffon, I think Marotta would consider a cheap option like Marchetti to replace Gigi.

i think when buffon is back and we suddenly see the defence do better, alot of people will see and realise what a commanding confidence boosting goalkeeper can do.

i dont care about the 20mil he could bring in. the boost he gives the team, is something you will never get from a player worth 20mil

these are only possibilities..we already know what is the real worth of gigi. Del Piero used to be an injury prone too and we didn't sold him and as you said we didn't sold camo either.

it worries me how hes not with the team, always somewhere else during our games

id consider cashing in on him and replacing him with viviano..solid performance against us today, against inter on day 1 and is a big reason why bologna dont lose often

we could easily get viviano and van der wiel for buffon

it's not a possibility, it's the reality.

please look at how many matches he has missed over the past 2 seasons.

Ale was injury-prone indeed, but not for the past 4-5 years at least.

and we should have sold Camo after 2007-8 anyway.

I hope he stays...but do you think that Milan would make an offer for him. I think they could and if they do well this season and buy a good outside back Buffon could be tempted. I think that he wants to stay in his heart though if we keep our progress. This is the most progress we have made in a while I think. We buy to good signings at around 60 mil combined then we are very competitive in all competitions. Plus only about 40 would have to come from transfer budget but the problem is this loan stuff is we still have to buy these players next season so we might not have alot left to upgrade after purchasing players already on our roster
