Molinaro Thanks Buffon

Juventus defender Cristian Molinaro has thanked Gianluigi Buffon after the goalkeeper spared the youngster’s blushes during last night’s win over Genoa.

The Bianconeri were leading 1-0 when Molinaro mistimed his backpass to Buffon. Genoa forward Giuseppe Sculli picked up the loose ball and was clean through on goal, however the Italy number one pulled off an outstanding save to prevent the Rossoblu earning an equaliser.

Juventus held on for a priceless victory and now move clear in second place, just three points behind league-leaders Inter. “Luckily, we have the best goalkeeper in the world,” said a relieved Molinaro.
Yet more praise.

Juventus goalkeeper Gigi Buffon has set his sights on emulating Alessandro Del Piero and becoming a Bianconeri legend.

The Azzurri custodian is a beloved figure amongst the Old Lady’s faithful and was amongst Del Piero’s most vocal supporters during his difficult period.

“I want to be a Juve idol like Del Piero,” Buffon told Rai Sport.

“I’d like to truly earn a place in the fans’ hearts. I want to be a reference point for them and be remembered when I quit.

“My biggest wish is to win the Champions League in this shirt and continue to prove myself with the national side.”

Buffon has excelled in Juve’s return to calcio’s top table and been one of the reasons that they are currently sitting in second place.

“We are doing so well – much better than was expected in pre-season,” the ex-Parma man stated.

“We may not have the quality of the past, but we are a hard-working squad and we are sure that we can do just as well.”

Despite his passion for the Turin giants, Buffon finished by praising Milan’s finest.

“Inter are strongest side in Italy and they have a strength in depth that nobody else has,” he admitted. “But I think Kaka deserves the Ballon d’Or.”

Every game he is fun to watch , with those camera close ups , where he is commenting the game play with those face expressions. His goalkeeping abilities are without a question of a doubt, of course.

Maybe, I think he is still club vice-Captain though..
Biri is still the vice captain, its the same as under Crapello, Ale was still captain but Thuram actually led the team out more times. With the crazy things happening to our back line at the moment, Id wouldn't be surprised to see Biri in there at some point. At least he doesn't frighten the hell out of me like some other guys back there!
