Juventus are close to signing Reggina midfielder Giandomenico Mesto according to the latest reports in Italy.
The Bianconeri have already netted the Bosnian Hasan Salihamidzic, who will join the outfit from Bayern Munich in the summer after signing a four-year deal, but plan to further increase their midfield department with the 25-year-old Amaranto.
La Gazzetta dello Sport states that an agreement between the clubs has already been finalised and will be made official after Reggina secure Serie A safety.
Mesto, who is considered one of the best players in his role and was recently praised by Inter Coach Roberto Mancini, is valued at £5m by President Lillo Foti.
However, it seems likely that the price will be lowered by including some of Juve’s promising youngsters in the deal.
Also, it now seems that Mauro Camoranesi will stay in Turin, while winger Marco Marchionni might be set for Fiorentina despite the Old Lady announcing that they had no plans to sell him.
Bianconeri and Viola officials allegedly met on Monday to discuss the position of Valeri Bojinov and Manuel Blasi, who will return to their respective clubs at the end of the current term.
Fiorentina sporting director Pantaleo Corvino also made enquiries on Marchionni, who is valued at £4.2m by the Bianconeri.
The Italian international has made a limited impact since his move from Parma last June and has only started to feature regularly in the side after the injury that sidelined Camoranesi.
