Juventus, soldi freschi da Gheddafi
10 10 2006
Saadi El Gheddafi Grazia Neri

Juve to net Gheddafi cash
Tuesday 10 October, 2006
Saadi Al Gheddafi says he’s ready to significantly increase his stake in Calciopoli hit Italian giants Juventus.

The football-playing son of the Libyan leader already owns around 7 per cent of the club through a business interest and is ready to pump more money into the Turin outfit.

“We have the intention of making an important investment in the Bianconeri club,” he told the Corriere dello Sport newspaper.

“We want to become the biggest shareholder in the outfit behind the Agnelli family of course, who remain the historic pillars of Juve.

“We just want to become the principal partners in Juventus after them.”

The Agnelli family hold a controlling share of the Old Lady, but they’ve invested more money into re-launching the FIAT brand than on the club over the last decade.

And the outfit could certainly do with an injection of funds after their demotion to Serie B last summer meant a significant dip in revenue.

Although they’ve managed to maintain their principal sponsors in the form of Nike – who signed a 12-year contract in 2003 – and Tamoli, they may now become an economic force again in the very near future.

“We haven’t studied our options in great detail up until this point, but we have the firm intention of increasing our shares,” added Gheddafi. “We just don’t know when.”

The midfielder, who has already appeared in Italy with Perugia and Udinese, also claimed he would be back in Serie A as a player.

Sampdoria chief Riccardo Garrone is understood to have offered him a place in the Genoa-based outfit’s squad.

he buys more stocks so he has a bigger share, once he has a bigger share he injects money into us so that his share in the end rises. he's an investor, he's not a fan, who will take the oppurtunity to make money in the long run. juve is in a tough position, and like the saying goes: "when there's blood on the streets, buy property". that's kind of what ghaddafi is doing.

We will start leaking goals like crazy, our defence will be easily breached, you will get serious in the transfer market every 5 or 6 years, you will get no news or any kind of documentation about the club....etc etc

Hey, Linus Torvalds cannot afford sponsoring the club, let us use Bill for something useful.
