The TV critics in The New Yorker and the New York Times both loved the last season and went out on a limb saying it was the series' best yet. I didn't think it was nearly as good as the previous season, but it was still good. Just not as inventive, not as unpredictable, and not quite as funny.

The episode where he goes to Miami was one of the better ones in the inventive category for his most recent season, but that wasn't anything like the previous season -- where he went to Iraq, or he got dressed down by Joan Rivers, or where he had an uncomfortable scene with Dane Cook, or as when he was a masturbation supporter on that Fox News-like TV program, or had those great comedic scenes hanging out with that woman who wasn't into him while he was massively into her...
Then maybe I have seen some of it, as I've seen him in Miami with the lifeguard dude. That was a good episode. I might watch them all again.

The first episode of Vikings was alright.

Also, they've cast Mark Rylance as Thomas Cromwell in the upcoming Wolf Hall adaptation. #thingsonlyicareabout

There is a historical fiction series :weee: (my fav genre for books) and about Vikings too, and I'm just hearing about it?

Edit: Oh shit, Gabriel Byrne too? Legit status acquired. It better be on a cable network, hopefully.

imdb appears to have the first two episodes streaming free on their site.

ep 1 Rites of Passage: http://www.imdb.com/video/hulu/vi1354016281/

ep2 Wrath of Northmen : http://www.imdb.com/video/hulu/vi1605674521/

Kick ass.

I know, they show Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves :D But the show's still good.
To get any actual history you have to go to either H2 (sometimes) or the awesome Military History channel. But MH has a weak rotation, they show the same 4 or 5 programs for like 2 days then change it up. And it's not available in HD, at least not by comcast here in Jacksonville, Fl.

We don't get anything other than the History Channel, but it's all so silly anymore anyway. The World At War was the last good thing I saw.
