Kids have schoolbooks from the 1980s, you can't consistently get 4G in the middle of a city, also can't walk without seeing old people searching for plastic bottles in trash, failed health and care policy, country is leaking its know-how due to emigration of innovators and trained professionals, slowly falling behind the competition and fading into obscurity. That being said, Erdogan also took in a huge number of migrants. While I commend both governments for such a humanitarian act, i dont think that defines you as a leader. Erdogan is turning Turkey into almost completely autocratic regime.
So taking in migrants is not even close to the top reasons i said Europe and the world will miss Merkel. But we are in a time where China and Russia are rising, and right wing populists all over Europe are trying to destroy democratic, liberal institutions and values. Merkel's role in keeping the EU together, managing the multiple crises in her time, and standing up to the likes of Putin, while being grounded and reasonable is what makes me consider her one of the greatest leaders in Europe, and why the world will miss her.

Also, you havent answered me what the difference is between Orban and Erdogan. They have almost the same political and ideological ideals with different covers. One is Christian the other is Muslim. Other than that whats the difference between them?

Also it can't be highlighted enough that Eastern European immigration within the EU does not cause many problems in the respective countries because these people aside from having school education or professional qualifications are willing to integrate into a civilized society, not undermine and eventually destroy it which is what the Middle East immigration is trying.

We infantilize North/Central American indigenous cultures to an absurd degree. We talk about them being peaceful land defenders who lived in harmony with nature and each other, when the reality was starkly different. They were constantly at war with one another, things like slavery, ritualized cannibalism and human sacrifice existed. The Haida here were hated and feared by most other NW coast indigenous nations due to their war parties down the coast and slave raids. The Iroquois and Huron had been at war for generations before the Iroquois wiped them out entirely the moment they got access to European weapons. The Aztecs had a vast empire that was conquered by a handful of Spaniards because every indigenous group under Aztec dominion hated them and helped the Spanish wipe them out.
But I’d like to see the “First Nations” return to pre-Columbus lifestyles. No more phones, cars, guns, electricity, indoor plumbing, etc… give it all up. In exchange for some #landback Lol fat chance

I have several colleagues who were doing so well in their countries until the west brought them "freedom". Recently met a pediatric cardiothoracic surgeon, who had to run for his life with his family, because the freedom bombs leveled his country. Poor guy had to retake all his exams etc to practice here.
