I wish :p. For starters, I'm sure I would be paid better and work in a better environment.
That seems to vary a lot from studio to studio though, from what you can read the gaming industry doesn't pay all too well and demands crazy overtime hours.

Bethesda is probably fine, as they continue to use their easy to use 50 year old engine :snoop:

I'm not quite sure how anyone in 2018 can defend Bethesda's use of this decade old engine.

It's not bad, it's horribly bad. If they were smart, they would contact Guerilla Games to see if they can get a variant of the Decima engine

You can’t defend it anymore. They got away with last Fallout but this new one looks exactly the same.

I love the Elder Scrolls series and I’ll buy it anyway but I’m sure it’ll look like shit.

Played it for about 1.5 - 2 hours, I had fun with it. There were quite a few people online as you can see on the map. As soon as I left the vault, there was some high level guy that left me a care package with a nice rifle, a bunch of ammo, some water, and a bunch of crafting materials. Bless this loving, wholesome community :touched:. Since there are no NPCs, the overall environment tells the story, which Bethesda has always done well with to begin with.

I could see it being entertaining to play with some friends, going to be great when I get to play with my brothers and explore the huge ass map.

The least you could expect from a 20 year old engine is to run smoothly in modern video games :shifty:

@DAiDEViL
I really wonder what Todd Howards face would look like after trying RDR II for just a few minutes, a game that doesn't look and play like it came out in the early 2000's. What would he think?

That Fallout game deeply pains me as a Fan of the series. They better get that new engine running asap. I'm not saying Bethesda is gonna die, but i've seen bigger companies disappear because of hubris and unwillingness to change. That engine has been a pain in the ass for years now, so hopefully Bethesda take the 76 backlash as a warning shot and get their shit together already, it's overdue.
...But as long as their shit sales nonetheless, they won't be in a hurry i guess.
