Sometimes I understand why some people might call someone a peasant.

Fallout 3 is a good game, but only by todays standards. To compare to the real RPG game would be a joke. And it's because of people like you games are done more mainstream without focusing on actually making an epic game with great idea.

Thank god for kickstarter or whatever that crowd funding stuff is that lets developers impliment thier ideas without hassle of mega corps who care nothing about the game.

Divinity : Original sin

Seriously, its the best isometric rpg i played in forever
Yeah, i'm hooked on it too, that is why i'm looking for something else for after it. I couldn't play any games in years now, since the choice was non existent and current games just sucks balls, but this one I like. No fucking compromises for peasants and console noobs, no dots on the map, no shit like fallow the arrow, pick some barries and come back - whooho heres your exp for job well done.

The inventory management is aweful though.

I'm really starting to like all those crowdfunded projects, so far I have not been let down.

Fallout 3 is an amazing game by any standard. If you think Fallout isn't an epic game then you don't know what epic is. And not everyone cares for super RPG, Fallout 3 & NV take the best elements of FPS and RPG and put them into one, rather than trying to be some kind of super RPG which it was never trying to be. To say what you're saying I don't think you even played Fallout 3 or barely at all, sounds like you're talking more about call of duty 15 or something.

but on another note... RTS>>>>>>>>>>>>RPG

Kickstarter is the best thing in gaming of the past decade.

Stupid capitalist producers like EA and activision only want to make games for peasants, wich need to sell x million to be profitably, and preferably bleed you dry with DLC and day one DLC.

Or they release these rushed games like Dragon age 2 wich are a slap in the face.

Kickstarter is so wonderfull. It allows these great games wich they no longer want to produce, be made.

BTW, keep an eye on "Sui Generis", i backed that game cause it also looked insane

- - - Updated - - -

There is also

"Torment : tides of numenera"
"project eternity"
"wasteland 2"
"star citizen"
"planetary annihilation"

etc

I played Fallout, since I am biggest fan of the series that is until interplay was responsible for making them. And that is the problem nowdays merging fps and rpg trying to get the biggest audiences possible and making cutbacks on quality and making shit easy for babies. Because if you look at it it's a shitty fps compared to reall fps, if you look at it from RPG, it's nothing out of the ordinary compared to real RPG, the only thing it has going that it merged those two, plus the fact that it has great setting, but the universe of fallout was already created and was just copy paste, so as a standalone game it's nothing special.

those games are really lame imo, and same with all those fantasy/magic kinda games. i really dislike them.
Wich is logical. You are the target audiance for the big publishers
easy accecable games with alot of shooting and fancy graphics, fuck the story or the immersion. typical console minion

Pc gamers have other standards

I liked fallout, but when compared to for example mass effect or system shock/bioshock, it falls short.
They did their post apocalyptic setting right tho

RPG > RTS, but there has not been a good RTS out , apart from starcraft 2, since like forever

Altho planetary annihilation, (WICH I FUCKING MISSED ELSE I HAD ALPHA ACCES NOW QQ), is gonna be awesome

Supreme commander was such an incredible game, especially with 2/3 guys versus 5 pc's. Damn

Not even mentioning Call of Duty :p

I agree on Fallout. I really liked the setting, they deserve credit for that. The gameplay combined mediocre fps and mediocre rpg into mediocre gameplay
Bioshock for example, combined mediocre fps with interesting rpg and created some nice gameplay (in 1 and 2, 3 was bad tbh)

The only thing out that i can recommand is divinity original sin, and divinity dragon commander.

I'm in the same boat as you, not finding the games from the genre i like, but this kickstarter opened a whole new box

- - - Updated - - -

I'm still upset TotalBiscuit did his "wtf is.." on planetary annihilation, AFTER the kickstarter ended or i would have backed it 100%

There may be more games like that today but Fallout came out in 2007, really there weren't a huge amount of games like that back then. I agree it's not the best FPS but that doesn't take too much away, when it all comes together it is so great. The setting, quests, storyline, humour etc.. it's fantastic

i play more pc games than you do genius. you're just making up your own little story here to suit your own narrative hurr im zach i know everything everyone else is peasant hurrrr durrrr.

Bioshock is more polished than Fallout, otherwise Fallout is way superior especially in story/narrative and setting

Company of Heroes 2, Empire/Napoleon/Shogun 2: Total War, Men of War: Assault Squad to name a few.

comp stomps are lame btw

yeah, I wanted to say that you mean first and second bioshock, third was awesome story, but the gameplay was dumbed down and really meh :D Actually bioshock 1&2 was really really good games.

That what is what I'm talking about, in todays standards Fallout 3 is good. Because when compared to Fallout 1&2 everything meh in third. Bigger story, but not to say better. Humor is not even comparable in those games, and to think that 3 tried to copy everything that is good but just couldn't do it.

For eg all total war series are shit when compared to the first Rome. People cared back then about the product, they wanted to make a good thing, at least when comparing it seems that way now.

As for CoH 2 is good it shows that the original team from CoH is not there anymore but CoH, that is one EPIC RTS. If that is not EPIC, I have no idea what is.

You have early access to total anihilation? You have steam? I almost didn't play that one, but would love to try it out.

ArmA III is great. It's so much more playable than ArmA II. If you've played Arma II and Operation Arrowhead then III is like a 3x bigger improvement between OA and II. Granted it doesn't have as much content as Arma II but I'm sure more stuff will come eventually. I'm playing cracked version of III though so it doesn't work so well (crashes fair bit) but I'll buy it from steam sooner or later. Do you play ArmA II much? Can send you something.

Both really but mostly CoH2. CoH1 is pretty dead especially after they changed to steam when they changed over from the old servers. CoH2 is actually very good, I didn't like it that much when I first played it but it's really grown on me. I would say CoH1 is kind of more focused in the gameplay than CoH2 but 2 feels a lot more grand, probably the russians have a lot to do with it.

Simcity 4 :touched:

put my steam in your rep :p

Nah, I just tried a bit of Arma II and bought if for the survival game, can't remember which one. I don't play a lot of games these days, a lot of other stuff going on, but would love to play some CoH 2, I played my fair share of CoH already. I'll add you in my steam and maybe catch you some day for some game time :)

I think you're talking about DayZ? It's pretty popular I think but I've never played it. I just got a new PC about 3-4 weeks ago and on holidays so been playing a lot lately :D haven't played this much for quite a long time. CoH2 sounds good :)

Tropico 4 is great, I just had the cracked version on my old PC. I think 5 is out now but I haven't played that. Only 4.
Yeah, that is great, along with the Modern Times DLC. I have Gametap, and I get to play that a lot. I like it so much better than 3.

Will try that one when i'm back from work. Read really good things about it.
See, this is the advantage and disadvantage of working from home.

The advantage is that I have all of my toys around me.

This disadvantage?

I have all of my toys around me.
