I'm looking forward to it (if I ever get PS4 this year), cautiously, its very ambitious and somewhat intriguing project, I'm gonna post bits of that list that can be worrisome though:
You won’t be told the narrative, it’s up to you to explore and piece it all together and come up with your own interpretations
Don’t expect cutscenes, dialogues or much text within the game.
There won’t be any quests or missions to go on. It’ll be up to you to decide what you want to do. The hope is that your natural curiosity and the richness of the worlds presented will be enough to keep you interested - this is a game about exploration
It’s basically up to you how you play. The universe is a living breathing place that just works. Shipping lanes, trade routes, freighters, space stations. Planets have ecologies.
Not an MMO. Everyone will be very far away from each other. But you will feel the impact of other players
It’s been mentioned that you can run into other players, but it’ll be very rare, and the details are very unclear right now.

It sounds interesting in text, but in practical sense, IMO the above all point to potentially being a game that can backfire in its ambition in being so focused on having little to no involvement in framing the story, its seems like they are trying to make it as much as possible for the player to just go out there and explore, this can backfire in terms of it maybe getting boring if it doesnt give you a sense of direction or purpose, colourless and lonely world without story or involvement. I applaude the effort to not cuddle or heavy handedly babysit the player with too overly scripted guidelines. But the opposite of that can be bad too. It can get lonely and tedious if you extreme small chance to face or meet other players, so no MP, and for single player experience, the exploring can get callous and tedious if there is no engaging narrative in sight. That is if they overdo, they might I fear just due to how often they press home the point of "everything is up to the player" at every turn.
