I'm not being sarcastic nor am i going anywhere with this. I didn't read much literature about this "problem" and i never really cared, but my logic suggests that they were born homosexual just like i've been born heterosexual.
If i lived in different environment ( antique) i may have had sex with another male (because that was the way of life), but by nature i'd have been heterosexual and i'd get hard on women, not men.
The same goes for them. They get hard on men not because they chose that or they were taught that way, but simply because that's how they were born.

I may be wrong, of course. Like i said i never talked to an expert and i didn't read much about this. But this reasoning sounds logical to me.

I was asking you about how do you reason these things and why do you think it's curable.

I always thought people were gay because of envormental effect from the people, television etc.. I don't think people are just simple born gay. In many communities you would find more gay people than in other communities. Why is that? Does the chemica makeup of a baby suddenly change when you change location? Unlikely. A more reasonable explanation would be the enviroment. If a person grew up in a place where homosexuality was promoted in one way or another, we would likely see more gay people in that area. Wheras, in an enviroment that does not promote homosexuality in any way, it is unlikely that you would find many homosexuals there.

Gay people are usually found in cities rather than villages. This is due to the openess of the enviroment. A person would be encouraged to experiment homosexuality. In conservative areas such as most villages, people would hardly even think of practicing gay sex.

This is what I think. I conclude this from personal observation.

In America we have different standards of "right" and "wrong". In America it is "right" to stick up for the little guy, to give everyone a chance and blah blah. However it is "wrong" to murder and "wrong" to beat your wife.

A while back, the practice of homosexuality was also considered wrong. Not anymore though. I wouldn't be surprised if something like beating one's wife may one day be excusable for example/ It seems ridiculous to us now, but homosexuality also seemed ridiculous to previous generations when it is widely accepted nowadays.

I agree, it is my opinion, but it is not only my opinion. Many people agree with me, maybe it's different in Western culture where you are more open to such matters. However, I come from a conservative region in the world and we still don't accept gay behaviour as normal as you do. To us, their behaviour is wrong. We still believe in "right" and "wrong" wheras, in America, anything seems acceptable. Nothing is right or wrong. You have been raised to accept all kinds of people, this is mainly because of racism issues America has faced in the past. It could explain why most Americans are very passionate towards accepting any kinds of people.

I come from a country where racism was never a problem. Therefore, we still judge people in a relatively insensitive way because we have never had a reason to radically rid of our prejudice mentality unlike America.

Ultimately, when I say I hate gays here in my country, I would receive nods of agreement. While in the states, it wouldn't be quite the same.

Define right - wrong and normal - abnormal.

For me, and I think for most Western people, something is wrong when it can hurt/damage external people or objects. Being gay obviously doesn't hurt anyone, so which definition of 'wrong' implies that homosexuality is wrong? I suppose you're going to answer because it is against nature or human nature, thus abnormal. Which brings us to the definition of normal. How do you define 'normal' so that homosexuality can be categorized abnormal. And, most importantly, how does abnormal imply wrong?

Syphilis was never associated with homosexuality.

AIDS was, but only because scientists couldn't come up with a better idea. And from the very beginning in fact they knew gay people weren't the only ones with a higher risk factor. Heroin addicts, hemophiliacs, homosexuals and Haitians formed the original risk groups. Some have chosen to keep on believing that the disease is caused by homosexuality, but the amount of evidence against that idea is immense.

All of which you would have known had your religion allowed you to study these things.
