While unsullied are credited as one of the best fighting forces logically speaking they shouldn't amount to much imho . Against westerosi knights they should die 9 out of 10 times . It's like putting against each other greek hoplites against an army with middle age technology .

I think they're being set up as being weak one on one but GOAT in formation on a battlefield.

btw I expect the Onion Knight to try to kill either Stannis or Melissandre.
To me it always seemed as if he knew what's coming, his whole conversation with Shireen had that vibe about it.

His one defeat, at Blackwater, was precisely because he didn't bring Melisandei along
She is the Lord of Fire? Will the Lord of Fire not support Stannis when Melisandre is at home? Isn't the Lord of Fire with Stannis?

Stannis is gonna crush the Boltons in the next one.
If such an important event will be made possible by something that did not happen in the book it would mean that D&D not only deviate the plot but also manipulate the entity of GoT world created by GRRM

The problem is what battlefield . If they indeed want to conquer westeros the terrain ain't like in Essos with endless deserts . You can't have a phalanx formation in the middle of the woods . Plus that formation with spears would be useful against a cavalry attack , but against a full plated knight spears are pretty much useless . You need a heavy blunt weapon like a hammer .

Stannis will never be king and this settles it . He may say that he has the best claim all he wants , but after all he's done westeros will never accept him as a king . He'll definetly die next season imho . He was responsible of killing his kin . You could let it pass that he killed his brother considering that he was an usurper and that there is no actual proof he did it , but nobody will let it pass that he killed his daughter . That is the first reason , second one is religion . He continues to burn weirchood tries in the north , so he will hardly have their support and supposing that melisandre will impose the red god religion in the south too , he won't have support there either . Seriously even the fucking targaryens came from another continent and when they conquered westeros got accustomed to their religions and habits with some exceptions , and they had big motherfucking dragons .

Stannis will die , it is known :D

Yes the Great Lord of Fire who carried Stannis through the Blackwater Battle....oh wait he didn't show up
If Stannis had one brain cell he would know that only the following things lead to success in Westeros:

- A game plan
- Connections
- Money
- Dragons

Everything Melisandre advised throughout the entire show brought Stannis clother to the abyss and farther away from the throne, from fratricide to shireenicide. Can't have respect for a man who is commanded by a woman and who wouldn't send her away after multiple mistakes
stannis is such a pussy.

It really is simple. The Lord of Fire helps Stannis if he follows his orders aka Melissandre's advice. If he ignores it and tries to do things on his own, the Lord of Fire doesn't do anything and let's things happen in natural way. It was really made obvious through 5 seasons.

The flames. "If you can see the future in these flames, how is it that we burned upon the Blackwater? You gave my sons to the fire... my sons, my ship, my men, all burning... "

Melisandre shook her head. "You wrong me, onion knight. Those were no fires of mine. Had I been with you, your battle would have had a different ending. But His Grace was surrounded by unbelievers, and his pride proved stronger than his faith. His punishment was grievous, but he has learned from his mistake."

I had this feeling for a moment but I think he would try to rescue her if he suspected this. He rescued a random bastards and risked almost certain death. He would do anything to save the girl he basically treats like family.

Didnt like this episode apart from the Stannis part it was poor. Am i the only one that thought the end of the episode was the most cringeworthy thing ever?

And as someone else already said i am convinced Ollie is going to kill Jon Snow or at least try.

Fuck you Stannis, Fuck you very much. You were my favourite with Jon, but this was too much, go get your throne and be governed by the red fire God with their everlasting rewards thats granted only when you did their bidding. But you will have zero sympathy or understanding from me from here on out.

Rest of the episode was meh, the two funny dialogue lines were already mentionned lol, its good that the badass Dragon finally came to save Dany, even if whole scene seemed sloppy, its nice to finally show what Dany's real strenght is, her dragons, not the hyped up most elite force of all time unsullied who are CANNON FODDER TO RICH CIVILIAN FUCKS WITH DAGGERS AND IN MASKS. Ugh, most worthless army ever.

I was even looking forward to seeing the Boltons curbstomped next episode, but it loses alot of its flavour after what Stannis did to his own little daughter.

Not based on the show, on the show, Unsullied gets butchered by rioting amateur rebels.

Dany need to feed her dragons alot for them to get big and ready for Westeros, clearly these Unsullied are a joke according to the showrunners.

Ambushed is one thing, outnumbered is another, but they are getting BUTCHERED. Not only are they professional warriors, but said to be of the highest elite. They should have bodies of their foes laying around them before getting wasted, but every time, except when it was Worm fighting, its like they are cant handle the direct battles enough to show the skilled advantage they have and just get slaughtered.

I understand the logic of outnumbered or ambush, but the show has done a terrible job of showing how elite they are supposed to be, when all they been is just fodder to be slaughtered.

I bet they are trained for battles not guerrilla fighting. US Army was elite in Vietnam but it got rekt by Vietnamese guerrila tactics.

When it comes to Unsullied they use spears which are quite weak in situations of ambush or tight places (like a few episodes ago). It's like the "fockin legend" said in season 3 or 4. Daggers >>>>> swords and spears in city combat.

But knights is not what armies are made of. Unsullied vs infantry soldier (like the ones Stannis is trying to starve to death) wins 9 out of 10 times imo.
Still much better armor . Even the normal armor stannis's soldiers have is better than the shit the unsullied have . FFS even the wildlings pelts protect more than the unsullied armor .
They leave both their legs and arms unprotected also .
