Just watched the show on HBO on demand last week. Fucking loved it. Might be my fave show from HBO yet and I was a huge fan of Six Feet Deep, The Sopranos, The Wire, Deadwood, Rome.... Just... wow....

I loved the show, and it really made me consider reading the books,the only thing that made me change my mind is that the author has yet to publish his last 2 books and i wouldn't stand waiting for them when i'd be done with the ones available.

No. He pretty much has to die in order to keep the narrative moving forward. For me the shock wasn't that he died, but how he allowed it to happen.

True, but so was Mark Addy (King Robert). Some of the better shows are known for killing off their more likable characters. Keeps the viewer on edge I guess.
