If Cersei takes control as regent and Tommen as new king, then defenitely not grandma Tyrell who poisoned him, or any Tyrells.

oh shit i just remembered didnt sansa stark pick up joffrey's cup, after he had drank from it but before he took the fatal sip, when it fell under the table and hand it to tyrion. Perhaps Sansa did it...

she is the only person shown touching his cup, out of sight from the others, in between him drinking from it safely and being poisined. tyrion was in full view when he held it

Oh shit, well spotted, but the thing is, is it a slow working poison? Because she gave him the cup before he gave him the first time, and the prick was uneffected after the first drink, it seems like its the 2nd drink, after the cake distraction and speech, that did him in, did Tyrion have it in his control at all that time, or left it at the table?

I cant remember if Joffrey took a drink in between or not. Ill have to rewatch tonight and see if the scene so strongly implicates Sansa. i dont know much about how poison works but i suppose even if he does take several drinks the poison may take a few minutes to kil him.

that she was behind the table when handling his cup is mighty suspicious imo, and seems unlikely that aspect of the scene was just coincidence.

IDK, might be worth dying to get a piece of that. :)
Neither Renly nor Joffrey did before dying though :shifty:.

How the hell are half the people you guys are naming as suspects supposed to have poisoned the wine? It was one cup. It had to be someone near the table.
I think it was the cake. Everyone was drinking that wine for hours and yet he only died after eating the cake.

I suspect that the pigeon he killed had superaids in its blood that killed Joffrey in an instant.

But cant be something she could possibly predict, that Tyrion would be chosen to be humiliated like that and the cup would end up just near her when thrown like that. More likely someone else accessing his cup and who could expect where it would be and how to get to it.

But Cerscie wouldn't have any real control as long as her father is Hand of the king.

The Tyrell's have a fantastic motive, you just have to think about it. Why would they want Tommen as king instead of Joffery?
Before I answer, have you read the books?
